  1. Got around to finishing this. What a classic. The red brown pieces though are painfully brittle. I got some replacements from Lego though.

  3. Spent the morning doing some boat restoration. Sails just arrived for the Flagship. I didn't appreciate the size of the Flagship until sitting it next to the Black Pearl. It's a massive boat.

  4. Picked up a couple weeks ago. Decided since it was close enough to take the drive. Offered asking price as it seemed worth it. Snapped a picture of the listing when I got back home for memories. They provided no pictures, but It was quite the "hull" Overall from the bulk bin the 3 sets were about 98% complete. Sails for the Pearl and Queen Anne were in good shape. The flagship sails looked like they were used as toilet paper... so aftermarket sails are set to arrive tomorrow. Missing pieces already arrived from Bricklink. Manual missing for the flagship but the othe

  5. Bought a pinball machine today, Williams Space Shuttle (1984). It was during the rain but I tarped it as best I could for the 1.5 hour ride home. Got home and had to label and disconnect about 12 cables and remove the backbox in order to get this thing to the basement but we're rockin' and rollin' now!

  6. just to give you all a followup. ebay ruled very quick.... eBay opened a case because of an issue with an item purchased from you. We reviewed the case and have decided to issue the buyer a refund of US $36.99 without any impact to you. This case is now closed. You are not required to reimburse the buyer or eBay, and this case will not be counted in your seller performance evaluation. Here's the case outcome eBay Customer Support has refunded the buyer. We're issuing the buyer a refund for this ca

  7. I got home from work Friday to my 4 year old saying "daddy build another pirate ship". Apparently he's addicted now. So I let him pick one out and we built it. Without a doubt the hardest set I've ever built in hard mode. The piece selection is vast (4 inventory pages in the manual) so finding one or two of the low count pieces was quite a pain.

  11. This morning I built the Rogue Shadow and it was not like most of the other Star Wars builds I have done. The ship is asymmetrical, has a fair amount of internal Technic pieces and took me over three hours to complete, partially because of my curious need to have the Lego logo facing in the same direction as I build (the set has under 500 pieces). I really bought set for the excellent minifigure selection because it includes the exclusive Darth Vader Battle Damaged and Darth Vader's Apprentice, and ended up liking it because it is a unique ship. The set was supposed to be complete per

  13. Not sure why I built this in Spring...but, finally built the santa sleigh from #10245 Santa Workshop...and slightly modified it with the Reindeer from 10275 Elf Clubhouse. Also working on a Nativity for the fireplace mantle to go with the Santa sleigh...but, I still need to work on ordering some parts (including finding a different angel and a Lego baby - kind of an important piece to the scene...LOL).

  16. I must have ordered right as they went OoS on the GWPs as my order shows only the Discovery. Called CS to cancel but of course the order went into Warehouse status while I was waiting in the queue. Rep told me she couldn't cancel anymore and checked the system and said the promos were all gone (actually, she said she didn't think they had any promos and it must have been an issue with the website, but that just shows how much conjecture there is in CS's answers, given that several of you have warehouse confirmations of 10283+2 GWPs). Offered a return label or she could look for some other prom

  17. It's always nice when you can get the wife involved. My wife stole my Bonsai and built it when it first came out. Then I came home from work a few days ago and she was working on it again. I asked her "You taking it apart to put in storage?", she replied "Nope, it's spring... time to swap out the green leaves for the pink cherry blossoms".

  20. Gore, Kerry and Hillary Clinton were not recorded calling the governor/secretary of state of a state they lost asking them to find enough votes to win. They didn't promote conspiracy theories about voter fraud and the election being stolen. And finally there was no mob rushing the capitol building when congress was certifying the election. So spare me the Republicans are just doing what Democrats have always done line, it just doesn't hold up to scrutiny. Al Gore lost the 2000 election because of 537 votes in Florida, not thousands of votes in a half dozen states. In both 2000 and 2016 the eve

  27. It’s 2:00 am and I’ve just spent the last hour trying to coax my half-breed hound from chasing deer in woods at the back of our house. I’m not sure how she got out of the fenced in yard, but I’ve got a stack on concrete blocks that are going to be put to use come morning to shore up the fence. Also, my dog is a total jerk.

  28. Watching my son take his first ice hockey practice as a Squirt (10U). He’s been playing for 4 1/2 years (he just turned 9). I’ve kept him down at the lower level because you’re technically supposed to be 9 to play Squirts. Squirts is when they play a full sheet of ice, and start learning the rules (icing, etc).

  29. Since this topic is supposed to be about what we did today. . . I spent a good portion of my day cutting tree roots out of a septic leach field. I’ll let the image of a grown man pulling roots covered in his own crap sit with you for a bit before opining that the activity however disgusting and arguably pointless (since the leach field is likely beyond saving) was still somehow more productive than this thread.

  30. So can we all agree that we live in a world where it's impossible to know everything? If that's the case, why do people feel like they need to do their own research as opposed to trusting an expert in the field? What makes you think that you're more likely to discover in a weeks or months or years worth of independent research that you would be more qualified to make a decision than someone who went to school for a decade studying this one specific thing? Further why does everyone think that someone is out to get them? Why do we presume that someone is trying to pull the wool

  39. So I'm totally late to the party on Wanda…just finished binging it last night. The whole story can be summed up with the beautiful line, "What is grief, if not love persevering?" Vision, a non-human, providing Wanda a way forward with her life is just about the most human thing ever. Very well done, MCU.

  40. The first of my 5 Pooh sketches arrived today. Quality is quite nice and it's printed on card stock paper. Each one is also individually numbered. I imagine certain numbers ie: #1, #1000, etc will increase the value. Haven't seen any of these for sale yet and curious of the value collectors are putting on these.
