  1. I have both UCS Falcons, both UCS Star Destroyers and the UCS AT-AT built and on display, and yet even though the new Death Star is generally bigger than any of them, it just feels....underwhelming? It's big, but it's empty. Its a display piece, but it's boring. Take the dioramas for the Emperor's Throne Room, the Garbage Compactor and Darth Vader's Meditation chamber, stick them in a generic wall frame and slap in a few basic sets (Death Star Cannon, Death Star Escape, Detention Block Escape) and you essentially get the same thing. There is no engineering wow like the AT-AT. No detail and shine like the Falcon. Not even the big cheese wedgeness of the Star Destroyer. It just looks like a circular frame for smaller sets. Maybe if they had done something like the Batcave Shadow Box and had a spherical front that swung open dollhouse style to see the interior. Or something crazy like a spherical front that hinged open in both directions to have an interior with the sphere halves on each side. Something that shows pushing design to the limits (like the AT-AT) to make it look impressive inside and out. Something to justify the hype and the price... But they didn't. It's just lame, lazy, boring and overpriced, which describes too much of Lego SW these days. I'm happily looking forward to buying the Venator over this. And fortunately, just like the Venator, they gave us the laziest, most underwhelming GWP possible for such an expensive set, ensuring there is no FOMO to drive an early sale. Harry Potter sets get more figures and better GWPs every single time they drop a big set. I don't know why Lego is so clueless in comparison....

  2. $330? LEGO has lost their ******* minds. Psst: The set # is 41843, not 40843

  4. Under the current circumstances and lack of clear future why would you focus on anything?

  5. Wow! I didn't notice that. I think it's a terrible direction for Lego to go. It makes me feel like it goes against what Lego is about. I don't want to buy stuff from Lego that makes me feel like I could have just printed it myself at home on my Bambu. In fact, if my family saw this mixed in with this set, they will just assume I printed and added it 🤣.

  6. But when you are done building it you can store it in the set box 🤣 This should be the GWP for buying the Death Slice and even then it would be hard to cough up $1K

  9. The movement with the 3d printed train is pretty cool though. I guess it at least has that going for it.

  10. Here around the 2:10 timestamp is a good look at the 3D printed tiny train and its functions. This would mark the first widely available set to include such an element while technically being LEGO's fourth official 3D printed piece I believe. 1st was a drafting table machine arm from a LEGO Tour 2019 set (New Elementary article with actual photos), 2nd a toy duck given as a gift with purchase to LEGO House visitors, third a pogo stick for backers of The Secret Life of LEGO book, and now this toy train. After looking back at how incredibly niche & rather sparse the releases of 3D printed elements LEGO has attempted thus far, I am not too worried of its inclusion here. I do ponder upon what this may entail going forward of course.

  11. They didn't say a deadline. Everything will be ASIN based and will come in waves with different deadlines is the way I understood it. They also said if a toy has any "playability" it would not be excluded from the under 12 testing. Lego sets 12+ would not require testing Of course this comes right after the listing violation debacle where I still have 3500 units stranded. I have another week or so before auto-removal and my front porch looks like Santa's sleigh exploded.

  14. The train design is cute, and I love all of those blue hues. Unfortunately, that tiny toy train is a Selective Laser Sintering 3D printed piece. Not sure how to feel about that.

  15. I feel it's different enough to justify both. I'm glad they went with totally different coloring/features.

  21. 40% feels like a good buy-in for personal or investment. Plenty of dark azure & dark purple elements, and everything is nice to look at. The tractor and car of 60305 are decent but something about the trailer on its own seems off. It functions well enough and could be loaded up with three similarly sized cars. However, the bottom 'shelf' should have included the same 1x2 grill wedges built-in to hold that car in place same as the top half does. Otherwise, the car just slides around. I suppose the takeaway for 60305 is "decent but could be better". Whereas looking at the overall picture of what 60408 offers appears to have fixed everything the former did not accomplish in my eyes. Some really nice color usage & sweet rides.

  22. $35 list price on LEGO Shop-at-Home for this runt of the litter. A nigh beefier MicroFighter esque build. No junk in this trunk. An Instagram post (@maxbautde) showing the stormtrooper hot tub section. Possibly hidden in the top left of the build tucked behind the elevator shaft. Other than the under-budget yet overpriced Tie Fighter, my chief critiques would be the sticker sheet and lack of leg printing for majority of the minifigures let alone no dual molded legs seemingly reserved for the singular Hot Tub Stormtrooper.

  23. Here is the annual rumor, confirmed, non set specific thread we all hold dear to our hearts... with my initial thoughts, even if you don't care, you are still reading them, aren't you! 2026 sets rumored as of Sept 2025 75421 Vader's TIE Advanced $69.99 (it better be in scale to the recent interceptor, bomber and fit in a trench along the new $1000 death star (lol, I joke) 75423 Luke's X-wing Fighter $99.99 (wait did we just get a small version last year and a really nice version in well, 2018, and it was $64??) 75436 6+ Mando & Grogu speeder bike (movie set based or season 1,2,or 3) $9.99 so regardless of the version, its cheaper then the minifighter set for both figs. 75437 Cob Vanth & Cad Bane duel playset $29.99 (probably a lame playset but Cob will be the price point) 75438 Yoda bust $49.99 (not a fan of helmets and busts) 75439 Darth Vader bust $59.99 (still not a bane but it's Vader, so maybe?) 75440 Midi Scale AT-AT $59.99 (what will be the hidden egg? Luke? a bunch of snowtroopers inside it?) 75441 Midi scale Venator $79.99 (didnt we get this recently? oh no, that was the Acclamator, totally different similar looking ship) 75443 Buildable Grogu $19.99 (at that price its probably not going to look well) 75448 Clone Shock Trooper Mech $14.99 (probably worth it just for the minifigure) 75449 332nd Battle pack - Ahsoka's clones and mando super commandos $19.99 (so its four figure battle packs again) 75452 Buildable BB8 $89.99 (the price keeps going up and I keep skipping them) 30727 something something in a polybag for $4.99

  24. Advent set 75418, 2025, such a disappointment. I applaud the lego team for trying something different but this one just missed the mark. Where to start. 1x day of a tiny droid with no articulation or assembly required. 1x day of a tiny droid manufacturer with no articulation or assembly required. 1x day of a crate with three droid parts that do not build a full droid. 1x day for a dentist-like chair. 4x days of modular colorful workshop benches, stoves, garbage cans. On the plus we get a small Christmas sweater Jawa, a snowman like BB8 and a few holiday colored droid builds. Also the standard B1 and B2 battle droids (no blaster for the B1 though).

  27. It took 13 years and I just had my first casualty to the "brittle brown" epidemic of 2012-2017. Poor Bard the Bowman. I was organizing my minifigures, nudged his right leg, and it snapped right off going flying. I managed to save his legs, main torso, head, hair, & hands. However, the arms and waistline piece are dust in the wind. I took a handheld power drill with the smallest drill bit I had and slowly ground down the peg extending from the hip's middle part (circular disk area between the legs, the "groin" I suppose) into the leg piece itself still stuck until said peg crumbled. (Repeated for the other leg because that snapped off too.) I decided to drill out the stiff arms as well instead of waiting for either of those to do the same as what the legs did and/or crack the torso. There is a little bump at the end of the arm piece resting inside the torso, I started with drilling that bit down until it fell apart which loosened the rest of the arm to pop off mostly. The external section of the arm broke off while leaving some "armpit" in the hole. Once again, carefully drilled until that crumbled. Walked away with a couple abrasions on the inside of the legs facing the "groin" area (of which only really show up under a light) and no cracks on the torso anywhere. Not sure what to do next. I may very lightly smooth down the inner surface area of the legs and arms to reduce any possible grinding should I replace the hip & arm parts. Ol' Bard will be missing his hip printing and have little in the way of pose ability but compared to the worst-case scenario, I think he will be alright. Well, mostly. ....And now onto my army of fourteen Uruk-Hai. Nothing broken or cracked there, only stiff thank goodness. I just have a bunch of bodies missing their heads & hands in a drawer. ....Well, that last sentence sounded wrong. Anywho. I was thinking of picking up some plain dark red torsos from LEGO's pick a brick (if they ever get any in that is) or use some other dark red torsos. I mean, the Uruk-Hai minifigures are going to be wearing chest armor therefore any printing will simply be covered anyhow. Not sure about the legs; perhaps something dark brown. At the moment I am using a couple of the Hun Warrior minifigure as a new body. (Dark red torso with nice leggings that actually kind of work for the ork.) I am curious what other leg prints could work. So that's what I have been up to. General organizing, building some armies, and.... stuff.

  28. Anyone else join the Toy compliance webinar today? I did and I'm 99% sure resellers are done on Amazon. I'm just waiting for the 3000+ compliance request that should hit in the next couple of days. And at that point, it's gonna be a race to the bottom until the due date. THEN... after all the genuine Lego listings are gone... Amazon will be over taken with "Compatible with Lego" listings. It's not feasible to test Lego products because every color and every plastic has to be tested. I once got a pallet of 9516's examined by CPSC and they told me I had to supply testing records. Not just the results of the test (these can be found on the Lego compliance website) but also the testing methods used and details of the test. Of course Lego doesn't supply this (I even begged Lego) and after getting quotes from multiple approved labs ($15,000-$20,000 per lego set) ... my only option was to sign it over to CBP to be destroyed. I wish I knew what "Secret Marketplace" the Brick Bucks guy is talking about

  29. Yeah lesson learnt. Need to refund ASAP 100%. You never know who you are dealing with... The violation goes away after 180 days. I got one before.... But I think if you get multiple ones it might be more problematic, I don't know, say if you get 2 or 3, if that will cause a deactivation. And it's crazy because it can happen from anything. Last week I got a complaint that a speed champions set I sold had star wars pieces inside. All my stock is 100% new so its impossible I thought. Then I realized, what must have happened is that someone returned a set to amazon and switched the inside, and then amazon thought it was new and original and resold it. They obviously arent spending time looking it over too carefully. And theres nothing we can do to protect ourselves...
