Set of the Year for me by far! The only set that was even close in comparison, but still a very distant second, was Snow Whites Cottage and then Batman Skyline coming in third. I have a lot of 2024 sets yet to build, the Endurance will be next then D&D, Medieval Town Square and Milky Way eventually. This is the set stock but I have 2 BL orders and a PAB arriving next week to enhance it some. The build was fast and fun and I couldn’t wait to work on it. It just looks so beautiful in person. Use gloves when handling the window elements. The 5 stickers are all on the inside and not front facing so you don’t really see them in the finished build. 12 minifigures and 5 animals. At this price or even at 20% off not an “investment” set at all. Build: 9.5 Play: 7 Display: 9 Value: 69 points

I ended up just initiating a refund and that basically worked the same as cancelling and everything seems to be sorted out. So the guy that did this ended up doing it again to me on a different set. I did not ship the second set before the cancellation request came in so I was able to cancel after the fruitcake finally made up his mind. The first two images are from the first transaction the third image is from the second. I knew the guy was a little antsy so I didn't cancel immediately, I should have let it go all night to see how many messages he would have sent. I added him to my blocked list after I set the last message. Second transaction, he submitted a cancellation request and then sent this message.8 points

I've been doing it for 12 years, full time for the last 6. You can't make any money at it and I wouldn't try. But tell you what, let me know what parts you have and I'll give you a decent price for them, especially minifigs. Seriously, it's just like running a car or motorcycle parts house. As stated above, you need good organization skills as well as familiarity with the parts. If you can look at a pair of legs and know that they belong to the Zeb minifig, it'll save you a ton of time over trying to look it up to discover what they are. I also determined early on that I don't want some customers. I don't want the customers that order 240 different parts, 1 of each. So I set a modest lot average minimum of $.90. I also have an $8 minimum order. True, I lose some small orders but, those are not my customers and I do not want them. I value my time more. You just have to decide what type of store you want to run. One other word of advice. Don't contribute to the race-to-the-bottom on items. If 20 people have a part and the cheapest is $.20, don't automatically go to $.19. It makes us all poor. Some store owners never seem to realize that, you can sell that same part for $.28 IF you have the other 40 parts that the buyer needs in stock. I'll gladly pay a higher price for a part NOT to have to place yet another order, with shipping. Good luck to you and don't hesitate to ask questions here.8 points

@airhanny We appreciate your posts but if you will look for the number that looks like this in your url, and cut everything past it, not only will your urls look cleaner but it will also strip away most tracking info. becomes https://www.amazon.com/LEGO-City-Garage-Mercedes-AMG-Alpine/dp/B0DJ1CC7YZ which works as well.6 points

This is going to be so hard resisting all these deals the next couple months. It's ingrained in me. Then I just need to go through all my stranded inventory, no-buy box listings and suppressed, and read through the constant threats to end me, to strengthen my resolve.6 points

I will say the art on the side of the box here is absolutely f**king awesome. Seriously, damn. Frame that and put it on the wall.6 points

I did not hold any expectations aside from being large. It is neat for a possibly wall mounted collection of dioramas ....that we kind of already have from over the years individually. This is the sort of build I might expect to see at a Brickfair as a habitat showcasing all the well-known scenes of the Death Star within the homage of one. I wonder what the backside looks like. Also, where is the hot tub at? Haha. At least it is different from the previous iterations ....while simultaneously doing the same thing. I am certainly not the market for this (and still a cheap ass penny pinching son of a brick). It's okay, just not for me.6 points

Decided to grab my 3 missing modular before the tariffs hit. Got each for slightly below market value - paid $2.2k before taxes, including a whole lot of replacement parts for yellowing. The Green Grocer had all the white very yellowed which I replaced. A lot of LBG parts were yellowed too, but most I could place in such a way that it wasn't visible from the outside. For Market Street there was minor yellowing on the white, but almost all the light blue had severely yellowed. I was again able to turn the bricks in such a way that it wasn't noticeable. Surprisingly, Cafe Corner was pristine. I now have all the Modulars (but not all of them built yet). That's next on the list. People say these early modulars are not as fun to build as the newer ones, but I had a blast doing this. Probably fueled by the fact that sometimes you are holding a $30 part, or a handful of rare slopes at $3 each. Guess that's the investor in me ;-) Sent from my SM-A326U1 using Tapatalk6 points

Last set of the year, The Endurance, and yes you are going to need endurance to build this ship. This build is not for the faint of heart. 28 bags including my first ever paper bag containing the sails, no stickers, 3 different prints (2 exclusive to this set) and NO minifigures. You begin by building a temporary stand, not the display stand, at a glib attempt to add stability to the set that isn’t really obtained until you reach bag 19. At this point you will want to clean all of the black elements that will be covered with fingerprints because the entire set is sideways SNOT built, no eating Chic-fil-A during this build. The hull is comprised of large curved panels, not bricks, making for a flimsy hollow build. The deck and stairs, also sideways SNOT built, look great as does the engine and captains quarters, which are all removable, and finally the build becomes fun. Only to be followed by the supply boats, not “lifeboats”, which are designed poorly and are tedious to get just right. By the time I got to the sails and rigging I needed a day off and just wanted to finally be done with this thing. The finished set looks amazing and it is one of the few sets that deserves one of those Limited Edition Wicked Brick display cases. Not sure if I will open up one of my Shackleton’s Lifeboat GWPs to display with it. This set is a ship of two tales, the build, only major ships worse: Maersk EEE, the stickers, and The Silent Mary the build. Display, only major ships better than the Endurance are the Sea Cow still #1 in my book and then the Titanic. Endurance is even better than the Imperial Flagship so don’t think I hate it just wasn’t much fun especially following the Botanical Garden that I look forward to getting back to. Not a deal, so apologies, but for honey users, an interesting expo that aligns with my own experience. Glad someone finally put something out like this about this company. Wouldn’t be surprised if the other similar companies operate the same way:6 points

I can simply remove the Kroger logo build and replace it with a KMart logo, add some different color masonry bricks to show crumbling plaster, remove all the outside displays and all the customers, leave one car, and voila, a KMart.6 points

Saw this hilarious post on FB today: RETIRED HUSBAND After I retired, my wife insisted that I accompany her on her trips to Target. Unfortunately, like most men, I found shopping boring and preferred to get in and get out. Equally unfortunate, my wife is like most women - she loves to browse. Yesterday my dear wife received the following letter from the local Target: Dear Mrs. Harris, Over the past six months, your husband has caused quite a commotion in our store. We cannot tolerate this behavior and have been forced to ban both of you from the store. Our complaints against your husband, Mr. Harris, are listed below and are documented by our video surveillance cameras: 1. June 15: He took 24 boxes of condoms and randomly put them in other people's carts when they weren't looking. 2. July 2: Set all the alarm clocks in Housewares to go off at 5-minute intervals. 3. July 7: He made a trail of tomato juice on the floor leading to the women's restroom. 4. July 19: Walked up to an employee and told her in an official voice, 'Code 3 in Housewares. Get on it right away'. This caused the employee to leave her assigned station and receive a reprimand from her Supervisor that in turn resulted with a union grievance, causing management to lose time and costing the company money. 5. August 4: Went to the Service Desk and tried to put a bag of M&Ms on layaway. 6. August 14: Moved a 'CAUTION - WET FLOOR' sign to a carpeted area. 7. August 15: Set up a tent in the camping department and told the children shoppers he'd invite them in if they would bring pillows and blankets from the bedding department to which twenty children obliged. 8. August 23: When a clerk asked if they could help him he began crying and screamed, 'Why can't you people just leave me alone?' EMTs were called. 9.. September 4: Looked right into the security camera and used it as a mirror while he picked his nose. 10. September 10: While handling guns in the hunting department, he asked the clerk where the antidepressants were. 11. October 3: Darted around the store suspiciously while loudly humming the ' Mission Impossible' theme. 12. October 6: In the auto department, he practiced his 'Madonna look' by using different sizes of funnels. 13. October 18: Hid in a clothing rack and when people browsed through, yelled 'PICK ME! PICK ME!' 14. October 21: When an announcement came over the loud speaker, he assumed a fetal position and screamed 'OH NO! IT'S THOSE VOICES AGAIN!' And last, but not least: 15. October 23: Went into a fitting room, shut the door, waited awhile, then yelled very loudly, 'Hey! There's no toilet paper in here.' One of the clerks passed out.5 points
