  2. Got bored and started to look at the old Minifigure Series releases. I saw the King for the first time and instantly pulled the trigger on eBay. Something about this guy seemed oddly familiar, then I realized it was the exact same King I recently hugged at LEGOLAND (yes, I also hug the Ewoks at Disney when they make an appearance). I'm excited to go back to LEGOLAND this summer with this newfound knowledge because I believe everything there might be a replica of a set or Minifigure brought to life. How freaking cool is that! ps: I'm wondering if the Castle in the background of the photo on the right is a replica of an actual set?

  3. Wife gave the green light. The Cantina would have been a "day one" purchase but I actually built a decent little MOC a few years back. Of course I've wanted the real deal since hearing about it retiring this year. I'll probably convert the existing MOC into another Mos Eisley building. With the system build Falcon coming maybe I'll construct a hangar bay.

  5. I love this Mushroom House at $90. It'll be perfect for the little acorn guy from series 22 and mushroom girl from series 25.

  11. That gumball machine is so rad. You guys remember those machines in the grocery stores back in the day? This time we ain't getting slime or those cheap plastic spiders though lol. This thing rewards with minifigures! Tough choice between the Castle and Space fig, but my choice is pretty obvious.

  13. The best deal was when Kohl's was running $15 Kohl's Cash on a $50 purchase. It was $240 cash back for the AT-AT.

  14. My friend that is a Manager at Ollies just got back from the Ollies Corporate meeting and said that Ollies has a deal to start carrying Lego overstock and every store is getting a pallet and should start getting them on the regular. Of course she told me after I bought a bunch...lol

  15. Yes, both were 3500 points each purchased in May of 2022 and 2023. I guess we'll see the Joe Hogan print repeat itself next year. Maybe they'll say it's a "Moe" Hogan print to justify.

  16. Let's go! I think this one is special due to the iconic SW LEGO logo dating back to the 1999 box art. That memory is an emotional trigger. I'm giving LEGO Insider a B+ this year for the Coin and Hogan print. The only way to get to an "A" in my book would be the inclusion of a minifig.

  17. I went for those stretchy hands that would stick to everything especially glass of which they had a tendency to leave the weirdest of marks across the surface. Even when the "stickiness" subsided over time, they still made a nice resounding thwack. Haha. I am trying to think of a colour Lego has not made a Classic Spaceman in. Perhaps one of the azures or nougat? More Classic Space is always appreciated, and a new Castle coat of arms will be interesting.

  18. I didn’t order any Cantina today it is still hard for me to buy these Price increase sets at full MSRP even with the points and GWP when you could have easily just bought it outright for $315. I am going to wait on the reviews on the Artemis as it looks like more tower less rocket and the build might be tedious if not just repetitive. The amount of expensive sets still to come is once again ridiculous. The LOTR GWP if exclusive to the set should help offset the price. Don't forget Jabba’s Sail Barge will most like be a must have, X Mansion, Airjitsu remake on steroids, Notre Dame, and many more. Maybe we will get lucky and they will do 30% off on the Cantina limit 5 on CM like they did with the UCS Gunship.

  19. Yes and absolutely, I recommend building the cantina while watching New Hope and drinking a galactic cocktail. It’s an amazing build with lots of great figures and you can add on other tantooine sets like Luke’s landspeeder, and obi wans hut. Only drawback is the wide footprint takes up a lot of space and of course the price.

  26. It is a licensed official set with its own unique design, building techniques and elements not found in Lego. Pirelli had Lego remove their name from the Technic McLaren Formula 1 Race Car tires after the first run got out. Not all of these sets are stolen IP, stolen designs made in the back room of some toxic waste recycling plant that we were led to believe originally. Pantasy has a Gramophone set out already and now Lego is coming out with one. Are we to think that Lego copied pantasy, absolutely not, but we need to look at Lego for stealing designs and IP theft as well.

  27. Thanks I agree the book is awesome and will probably preorder even though we don’t get anything for doing so but 1x vip points I am concerned about the 4 x sets running out before Tuesday at 12:00 am but not enough to buy any of them without getting the promos free if they are out I’ll order other stuff I need. I am hoping most everyone feels that way and if so it will still be available. I already have the AT AT and Mos Eisley so it’s whether I want another Mos Eisley or not and the other 4 x sets. I will go for the coin. If points post before the poster is out I will get one if not I will skip. Saw one poster bent on youtube this morning lol. Actually like Yoda says there is another it’s 1500 points look at brick fanatics for more info assume it is available in USA but that’s a guess : ) https://www.brickfanatics.com/lego-star-wars-may-the-4th-insiders-coin

  29. I had purchased the limited edition numbered x-wing print in May/2023, and the limited edition numbered Landspeeder print in May/2022 . Now Lego is doing another run of these? This doesn't seem right, so much for a numbered limited edition run. Almost feel like asking for my 7000 points back.

  34. I only did 2 orders and got all 3 GWPs on both. The $30 Ghost discount takes you below the $160 threshold for the Troop Transporter and keeps you from redeeming the coin or poster as well. Well played Lego. I am not using the codes for Chewy or Diorama if anyone wants them.

  35. the code thing instead of a discount is pretty shitty, huh? then you can't redeem anything you may have waiting.

  36. I wouldn’t bet on it. I suspect that it’s a low volume set. This might be the best time to buy if you really want it. Wasn’t the gunship pretty much discounted everywhere for a couple months?

  38. Long story short he likes the Cada better in almost every way especially the look. Build is harder because the 6 different type of technic pins and axels are all black which makes finding the correct one more difficult. Oh, and he forgot to mention the Cada is $100 less on Amazon.

  39. Interesting, so there are 2 coins for this year. One GWP and one for points. Will be curious to see if the points purchasable coin is region locked or not. Seems like the R2 Keychain and patch are purchases at other retailers in the UK currently....

  40. The poster is almost guaranteed to arrive damaged. I have seen 2 LAN members post theirs on insta one was beyond repair. The book looks top notch quality and has lots of premium add ons but $150 is steep. If it just had an exclusive awesome minifigure. https://brickset.com/article/109472/review-lego-star-wars-the-force-of-creativity The big deal sets go on sale the day before the GWPs so will be interesting to see if they are still in stock to get the maximum stack.

  45. BL Official response to the endless complaining in the comments section on the castle set: Thank you to everyone who participated in Crowdfunding for Series 1, and a big congratulations to SleeplessNight on his very popular Mountain Fortress. The popularity of Series 1 has been incredible and far exceeds our expectations. Looking back, the BrickLink Designer Program 2021 Invitational started off with a maximum of 10,000 sets, and Series 1 planned for 20,000 and was only recently increased to 30,000 sets to help address availability concerns. To dispel any theories, we are limited in scope by our production slot, which is planned with the factory before Submission Intake of the Series even begins. While BrickLink may be part of the LEGO Group, we are still a very small program in the scope of the LEGO portfolio and must work within the production allotment we receive. To be clear, we are not intentionally creating a shortage of sets. That would be a bad business practice, as you can see it only creates upset customers. Unfortunately, the downside of the rising popularity of the BrickLink Designer Program is that we do not have the ability to match production capacity in real time. We appreciate your enthusiasm for the BrickLink Designer Program and look forward to bringing you many more incredible fan designs in future Series!
