Even though these stacks are not high, you can still have the smaller boxes make the ones below them cave in some when stacked up on their 'backs' like this. I had an incident with just two small sets, Fire Motorcycle and Fire Chief Car, sitting atop of a High Speed Chase and one month later I already noticed the High Speed Chase's box bowing inward. It was still fairly sturdy but the damage was noticeable and a little unsightly.

Boxes of the same size work well with each other to a degree but soon as the dimensions change even a little then, well, gravity kicks in and isn't nice about it.

Thanks for the info and tips. I still feel like I need to redo the stacking sooner or later.
