Retired sets with rare pieces can become a money pit very, very quickly, so got to watch out for that. Are pieces clean/undamaged? Boxes? Instructions? Minifigures? Well, 90% of the lot comes from display, so he assumes those are complete or at least very close to complete and I would agree with that.
