November 9, 201510 yr FM could go, I agree. And I reckon it'd be a good investment. I also reckon PS could surprise everyone and stick around for a while longer.
November 9, 201510 yr Not sure if it affects too many people here, but Amazon France is now no longer shipping Lego to Australia either. Amazon UK and Amazon Germany still do however. It's a shame as I have managed to score some good deals from there over the last 12 months.

UK has 60051 for $140 delivered atm
November 10, 201510 yr Are you guys not worried that there's a huge amount of hoarding of this set. I haven't bought any as they're still readily available over here, but on the What did you buy today thread there's constant RE's being mentioned and in good numbers.
November 10, 201510 yr They already flip for a good profit in Australia. But they are not sold at all in Australia atm, except via Lego.com

They were available in one Australian department store and then LEGO Shop at Home only once stock ran out (as RJ mentioned). We have no physical LEGO stores and a free shipping threshold of $200 AUD, so I don't think that people are sitting on huge piles of them.

Fair enough, it seems that in the US at least people are doing the dog on it. Looks like one of the most hoarded sets.

This and the fact that a vast majority of the target population doesn't know of the existence of LEGO Shop at Home. JW sold out fairly quickly as we had only two drops.

Wish that I had more, It's not the only set that shows promise and has retired in the last few days.... November 12, 201510 yr Well beside RE that is retired, I couldn't see much of the rest of JW around the shop. What else? It no secret that the Chima sets are on the way out. Or are we talking about PC and PS plus the much long life DS.

Also seen the rise in lurkers on here lately, a couple of us chat offline or through here on PMs. Is this thread locked down to Members only?
November 12, 201510 yr Not sure if it is, Luc. It doesn't take much to sign up and just lurk away, but maybe I'm being too paranoid. I guess if something is 'top secret' we can just communicate via Pm. The set I was referring to was 75055. It just went poof overnight. I reckon it could be a winner, and probably isn't as hoarded as sets like PS and PC. That one didn't even survive the two year mark.
November 12, 201510 yr I got about 6 of 75055 when they were $100 each at the Drop Zone. Sold them all for not much profit. Oh well - needed the money at the time!

Oh dear... I missed that (now legendary ) sale. You should have kept them mate. They are selling for retail at the very least atm. Oh well...

What we find over the year is that there is a rise and fall in LEGO "Investors", once they realise that it isn't quick $$$ and there is a bit of work in the strategy, selling and buying - they go poof. I have ample time spare and find it fun and the thrill of the chase. Having manageable cashflow also helps. 1 hour ago, ED-209 said: Not sure if it is, Luc. Some of the longer regulars, and some that have disappeared or moved on know my feelings about Star Wars.

My advice is to buy this one if you see it in the wild. It's already disappeared from pretty much all B&M retailers in Brisbane. It is a very popular OT ship, even though it's pretty much just an ugly grey wedge. Some of the minifigs in it are fairly rare, plus once the new film comes out, this may also help its CAGR. I may be wrong, but I reckon it'll be a winner. I neglected this set and now I am regretting not buying it when it was on sale. as of this date I only have 1 to my name.
November 13, 201510 yr ...and just like that, between last night and now, 75055 price has gone up from $199 to $230 @ one of my fave retailers. The force is strong with this one. I could have bought some last night, but end of year is when I wind down purchases as I have a long unpaid period over Xmas. Looks like I should have bought fewer modulars...sigh

I am more of a collector rather than a investor since i do not have much cash to play around with. Envy you guys that can buy tons of these stuffs but of course there is also the hard work of selling it on whatever platform that suits...i would assume ebay mostly? opps. My reply ends up getting lump together with the post i am quoting.
