Reading some of the latest comments I added in a feature that will show you similar topics when you are posting.  This is just a trial run. Some may find it annoying, some may find it helpful. It can cut down on duplicate posts and help keep other topics going strong.  Lets try it out and see how it works.  Here is a video to show how it works.  After you type your topic title and move to the next form field, you should see the topic options come in.  If you see a topic that matches yours, don't create a new one, keep the other one alive.  I disabled this feature in the Introduce Yourself forum, since I know there will already be many similar types.  That is fine.

Great idea.  Do mods have the ability to merge topics?  We do get a few duplicates every now and then.

Merging topics is a pain in the dupa.  Excuse my Polish...and yes, mods do have the ability to merge topics.

It looks like the feature only search for similar topics in the same sub-forum.

Example, this new topic was in minifigure section / subforum:

While there is an existing one in the Odds&End subforum:

I merged the two a little bit after you mentioned them. I knew Darth Lego brought it up before but forgot where it was. Thanks for finding the links; it made my job much easier!

Duh, perhaps it was typos on my part. Next time I should do this kind of tests on my pc where I can take sceenshots and actually double check what I am seeing. :lol:
