Very true fellas. II will also be selling my remaing 15 Capt sets after the holidays. No need to get into bidding wars with people. Already a ton of sealed (including plenty of crushed) boxes on bricklink. We need for those to get bought up for their $20 price tag.

I do think our Capt version is color (darker blue).

By the way, we know what any type of refresh does in the Lego world. While the older SW Sail Barge is larger and more movie-like in appearance, it is still dropping in value, Pretty much every Batman 1 is still dropping in value except 7888 (Tumbler) and a few others since the 2012 Super Hero line was introduce. Poor Batman 1's Batcave and Arkham sets. Very cool sets.

Exactly, especially with Christmas. I am clearing out all of my Cap and Hulk sets and using the profits to fund the next lot of sets in larger quantities. Rinse and repeat.

Time to offload I think as the new set comes with a bike too. It's all in the timing.

Yup, but it definitely means now the CAAC isn't the only way to get Cap now to round out the Avengers.

but is the only way to score Avengers Movie Captain.  The figure is completely different so collectors won't have any problem shelling out good money for CAAC for a long while.

side by side they are different enough to warrant collecting both.

I just think it is a big mistake selling CAAC for only $25 shipped right now.  Unless you have several thousand units I cant see this product taking up much space or anyone really having much money heavily invested...

so why not let the margin grow a bit more?

heck if you wait just a week or 2, it should hit $35 shipped on ebay and then maybe unload!

Also the weeks after Christams are great for ebay because everyone is spending thier christmas cash.

Sure this set isnt as hot long term as 6866 or 6857 but its short term growth is phenomenal.. Its got room to grow in the next few weeks believe it or not!

The older Batman sets never lost any real value. They are still all selling for what they were before the new Superheroes wave except for Batcave and Asylum which only dropped slightly.

Batmobile and Batwing still sells for about $200 sealed, give or take a few bucks.  I paid roughly $20 each on clearance at Target for 50% off in 2008. That was only 5 years ago.

thats some perspective.

i'm experiencing a different story with my Batman 1 sales on ebay and bricklink with the exception of 7888.  that set is still appreciating ever so slightly every 2 month.  the killer croc set is also still doing well.

agreed. i would 2 months until just before the new sets are due. $35-ish is my target to unload 1/2 of them.  I'll gamble with the other 1/2 by holding on to them for my typical 2-3 yr process.

Would you guys buy them at $15 retail if you saw them on the shelves? Not to flip immediately, but to hold.

I did. $17 each to be exact. I just love that it`s a cheap set with 1 very cool minifigure. Being a collector first, I plan on keeping the 7 that I have. That`s said, I`d expect it to reach $35-$40 a few years down the road. We`re already in the $25-$30 range couple of months after EOL. Once everyone else has off loaded them it will go up a bit higher I think. I only have $120 tied up in them anyway, big deal. not like it`s a strain and I can`t buy more. Makes sense why others with more would want to sell now. Content to let them sit unless the value should unexpectedly sky rocket

Mine is a different market but I cleared all of mine out at $40 and I got them for about $5 each (that's some perspective as well). I have had a lot of parents buying for the kid's Christmas, just so they can have a Cap. They don't care what suit he is wearing. With this release, I have no qualms betting we will see more Avengers figures from Age of Ultron sets.

I would sell immediately, there is a new set coming out soon that has CAP with a motorcycle in it. I purchased all of mine at $9 each and have been selling them consistently at $32 shipped on eBay. I suspect when the new set comes out, people will not pay this price any more for it.
