Lego mystery... to me

Question

Posted

I have a few of these two inch by four inch Lego bricks.  Can anyone tell me if they have a special name or is there anything unique about them?  I've tried looking around online and haven't come up with anything.  Thanks in advance.

[this seems as a good a place to post this as any]

my boy wants to trade LEGO pieces w/ his buddy.  Either has no clue about value...just that some pieces "look cool" or something they want for their MOC.

I see some issues w/ this and told him that unique piece from complete sets are off the table and I need to review any MFs that changes hands.

really hard to check value (even on BL) of random pieces.

I mean a pearl gold helmet for MC is $40???

Have folks here had kids do LEGO trades...does it work out?

The erudition and encyclopedic knowledge on this forum is impressive

I have found some of the weird regular Samsonite bricks in a bulk lot and did a little research then and recognized the big boys from that. Samsonite used old Lego molds and didn't take care to line up the stud logos all the time so you get some funny pieces that say Lego every which way.

I haven't, but sometimes you just gotta let toys be toys and kids be kids and let it go.

Yep, I went through something similar when my kid wanted to start trading Pokémon cards with her friends. Just gotta let them do their thing.

I assume he's talking about this one: https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=19730&idColor=115#T=C&C=115

Only comes on Steve in the Fortress 21127 and on a Zombie in the Mountain Cave 21137.

I definitely see your side on this and while I think it's good to be chill about it, it's fair to keep boundaries on the rare stuff.
