FORUM LESSON: Managing Your Followed Content

Featured Replies

The internet isn't getting any easier.  Process and rules are good, nothing wrong with it.  Even when you try to follow the rules, most people don't really care. This post and future ones like it are to become information that anyone here on this forum can learn for themselves or share with other users in hopes to make for a better user experience for them as well as for us.

This post is about managing your content.  On any given month, Brickpicker averages a million emails and can spike up to two million if there exciting things going on. The number of people that think the best way to remove yourself from getting emails is to hit the SPAM button.  That is bad and that is dumb. There are plenty of ways to clean up your notifications.

One of the most simple ways is to "Manage Your Followed Content".  You can get to it by going to your profile area in the upper right corner where your avatar icon and Username reside. (Direct Link: https://community.brickpicker.com/followed/)

Here is a super easy way to see everything you are following and very easy way to remove anything you no longer wish to follow. I also just added the ability to remove yourself from "ALL FOLLOWED CONTENT".  One click, and you will stop being notified about anything.

Every email notification you receive has links at the bottom of the email that will unsubscribe you from that topic.  One click, and you will no longer get notifications from it.

At the top of EVERY topic, there is a button that says "FOLLOWING", if you click that, you will see a few options that will allow you to select whether you want to get notifications, the frequency of the notifications or stop getting them.

As you can see, there are many very easy ways to improve your notification experience here.  No need to beat on the spam button.

MOVING FORWARD, USERS THAT HIT THE SPAM BUTTON TO STOP GETTING MESSAGES WILL JUST SEE THEIR ACCOUNTS BE REMOVED OF ALL FOLLOWED CONTENT OR HAVE THEIR ACCOUNTS DISABLED.  THE OPTIONS ARE HERE FOR ALL TO MAINTAIN THIS ON THEIR OWN.  OUTSIDE OF THE FEW EMAILS WE SENT FOR THE FUNDRAISER, WE NEVER SEND OUT ANY EMAILS. YOU ONLY GET RESPONSES FROM THE TOPICS YOU ARE PARTICIPATED IN.
