I disagree about the wrong time to buy. There are good buys out there, we just don't know it yet!

I meant that it´s time to sell (flip) as there is less competition from the big shops. Amazon Spain had stuff at 40% off up until last week, now there is a window to offload stuff.

It´s always a good time to buy if you have money and there is a good enough deal.

Sadly, I cannot find any more money wedged behind the sofa!

Genius plan, leaves more free space for the new sets too.

Just be sure not to sit on the sets too long though as they won´t be MISB anymore.

Technic Porsche -35% (169.99£ / ~200€) at amazon.co.uk

Sigh... nothing exclusive about this set anymore. Lego and retailers are treating it just like any other Technic set now.

Does anyone know if all retailers use the extra cardboard box for the Technic Porsche? Not much use in getting 35% off if the box gets squashed.

Argos and ASDA does, I know from my own experience. Tesco probably too.

Of course, I avoid Argos in the same way I avoid TRU. However, Asda have been brilliant and I'll be ordering a couple of Porsches from them soon for my collection and will use C&C so that I can check it when I pick it up. I typically display Technic sets for 2-3 years and then sell them to break even.

John Lewis often ship in LEGO factory boxes if you order in the right quantity. Tesco NEVER use factory boxes but, at least their packing/shipping is miles ahead of Argos & TRU. Tesco is pot-luck as it's either a bubble-wrapped set in a mailing bag or unbubble-wrapped in a single-wall box (which can get crushed). I simply returned any damaged ones without a problem.

My own experience of TRU has been no problems. I ordered the Porsche from them and it arrived in factory box only, undamaged (must have been lucky compared to TabbyBoy...

I think there are extra sorting facilities outside of London because all orders from argos in larger quantities than one or two been always delivered in genuine LEGO cartboard box with Lego Factory Seals on it. Had to collect Milleniums from Argos Hastings , terrible condition, with lots of non-necessery stickers around the boxes. Terrible.
ASDA/George and Amazon packaging for Prime members, never had an issue.

I've never had one single shipment delivered or click/collect from Argos that I've been 100% happy with and have never seen anything from them in a factory box or without a disgusting sicker slapped onthe box. The only consistency I see is with Asda, John Lewis and LEGO themselves.

I'd like to let you know that LEGO's factory outer-boxes are NOT good enough for shipping large/valuable sets as they are only single-walled. For the sake of a couple of quid, invest in some double-walled boxes for sets like modulars & Sea Cows. the size I use are internal 590x490x125mm and the sets fit perfectly with 2 layers of bubble-wrap around the set. Here's my feedback after using them:

An excellent seller with great comms and the best p&p I've ever had. Top marks.

Really fast service, fantastically packaged, brilliant, thank you.

Good seller. Item arrived quickly and as described. Well packaged and protected.

Arrived quickly. Well packed. Great seller. Thanks

Fantastic item, well packaged arrived fast thank you x

I think LEGO's factory outer-boxes are only useful for storage and not up to the job of shipping as no courier will take full care of your parcel.

MODS... Feel free to move this to the packaging thread if you want to ;-)

50% off some TFA sets (75100, 75101, 75102, GG, DV)  and a few other selected sets at Turds R US Spain. If you don´t live in Spain, Amazon.es is price matching some sets and it  is a 1 month offer. It´s 50% off TRU tax price so reallly only 40% off.

Fill your boots, they have clearly overstocked and these sets are shelf warmers.

Rather than give TRU your hard-earned money, I'm sure that Tesco will be cheaper during their next big blow-out.

Tesco is only UK so these are a better deal from Amazon with free shipping or cheap EU shipping for anyone who likes make 2 euros profit per set or wants to tile their floors with Tie Fighters.

It makes me laugh when sellers are happy with €2 or £2 profit which is wiped out by the time you pack the set and go to the post office. I'll only sell something when I can clear £20 profit after ALL expenses.

That´s why you´re better out than in. It´s a wholesale flipper´s market.

I agree, that's why I offloaded the bulk of my Tesco haul within a couple of weeks. If I sold now, I'd have made less. A small profit per set is OK if you have dozens to offload to a cash buyer without needing to package.
