  • Hanging is by far the best way to display it.  It has a hollow core, so we used a small piece of wood painted black with an eye bolt and picture hanging wire.  That way its supported from the bottom.

  • I think this pretty much sums it up. A five year old boy (my son) watching Star Wars for the first time ever. The Death Star is... fascinating.  When it is gone (whenever, if ever, that finally happe

Now every time I watch someone open a box and they take a long time, that's what I yell. Surprising how many people just don't get the reference.

I think most people don't remember movie dialog...

It lasted a bit over 2 hours

Mine from my order two days ago just shipped today. When I ordered it, the website said it would ship October 19. So this is very much ahead of schedule.

Available Now on Shop at Home. Hopefully this is the last run before the Red 5 takes it out for good!

Two from Walmart were original boxes. No creator, no Disney, just Vader in all his glory.

If they stamp 'Creator' on the DS box, folks are going to get seriously confused.  Rumor was, they would give it the 'Expert' badge, but I think that was all the drunken ramblings of an anonymous troll on another forum...

The feedback of only 3 is hardly reassuring.

Especially since 2 are for buying, the only buyer is no longer registered on ebay and there is no buyer protection. Still, you get what you pay for.

As I mentioned in the Pet Shop thread, the Death Star is not in the Hoilday LEGO Shop at Home catalog.

But why would Lego evacuate now, in their moment of triumph?  I think you overestimate our chances.

Ans as we have all learned over the years, the catalog is shows what is and what is not eol with 100% accuracy

As I mentioned in the Pet Shop thread, the Death Star is not in the Hoilday LEGO Shop at Home catalog.

This can't be the first time that it's not in the catalog.  I was going through it yesterday, and there are plenty of sets not advertised, but I doubt that everyone of the big sets not in the catalog is going to suddenly go EOL.

I surrender.  I had three and now I have two.  The one I got during the July "It's Sold Out" dance from target had damage from shipping.  I held on to it for ninety days to see what would happen.  This thing is still here and kicking.  I decided to return it as it was damaged and see how the future goes.  If target now has a restock and the Lego store employee says they expect more (which he said yesterday) I am pulling back on my bet while I can cash out for even money.  I still have two in great shape.

P.S. the Target store said they were going to salvage it for damage so look for it on-line or at your local Salvation Army because that is where it is going.

P.S.S My gut tells me there are more opportunities to buy this in the future (But I don't understand Lego's sales strategy on this thing at all.)

P.S.S.S.  If the right opportunity to buy a third one shows up in the future and the box is mint I will buy more but knowing I was holding a damaged box just drove me nuts.  If the box was perfect this would not have been returned.
