I am kind of interested. I know this is an investing site so there will be more people who bought one to resell than to build - but I want to see the skew. Who specifically bought one to build and did just that?

Hi there guys, this is my first post and I am sharing with you my first ever MOC! I would love to know your thoughts as well as any tips, advice or guidelines to help me with future builds. The courtyard is a two set build of the official 'Battle on Takodana' set and can actually slide out from the front as its own piece. The forest to the side of the castle (representing where Kylo Ren confronts Rey for the first time) is also its own piece and can slide out if you want to use it as a separate element. The main tower lifts off as does the entire roof section on the left hand side revealing more tables, patrons and the performance area for the band. The turret on…

Here is a starting handful of "super heavy investment in parts" starcrusiers for your perusal from this year's SHIPtember building event with more to be posted in due time. Apologies for not uploading last year's designs. After this I will go back and sort that out. I was going to have the my latest build review be for the 75902 Scooby Doo Mystery Machine set. After watching my son building the set with some help from me, I decided against it (for now). Don't get me wrong, it's a GREAT little set and decent build. The only "Con" if I were to nitpick would be the inability to fit everyone (Fred, Shaggy, Velma, Daphine and Scooby) in front just like in the cartoon. After looking online, I was able to locate someone who slightly modified the van to allow more interior room for Scooby. I further enlarged the interior for more width. This was helpful and gave me ideas to further enhance the van to fit the entire gang. I estima…

A dark cloud has settled over Legoland, as war has erupted between two of its proudest themes! For over a year, Heartlake City and Fabuland have coexisted by maintaining a tenuous ceasefire. That all changed the day after the Communist Dictator of Fabuland passed away, leaving his only son to take his place. Eager to prove he is nobody's fool, and clearly trying to compensate for a plethora of shortcomings, Fabuland's new leader, Patrick Pig has declared war on the Friends of Heartlake City! As a result of this provocation, President Olivia and Secretary of Defense Mia, has called their Friends to arms. Inside sources tell us that they haven't seen the Friends this fire…

Hi, I'm new to this website. I just wanted to share with you my latest MOC. I am pleased to announce my most challenging and rewarding build, the American supercar, the Hennessey Venom GT. IMG_0030 by lachlan cameron, on Flickr Flickr photos: https://flic.kr/s/aHskNRp6jE IMG_1242 by lachlan cameron, on Flickr This build has a V8 twin turbo engine, a motorized rear wing, working steering wheel, 6x lights and a 8 inch GPS built into the center console. IMG_1089 by lachlan cameron, on Flickr This car has quite a few new ideas and build styles that I will definitely be pursuing in the future. IMG_1257 by lachlan cameron…

Okay, there simply are just too many of these space frigates to put all in one post let alone the amount of time taken just to sort a few is ridiculous. Therefore a handful will posted at a time and within a spoiler. With any luck doing so will maintain this topic's page from becoming ludicrously long and keep image loading to a minimum. Well anyway, here are just some of this entries for SHIPtember 2015 with tons more on the way! ....I'm not even kidding on that. There is like close to a hundred of these things.

So this is new to me but perhaps others have tried it since it has been out since February. I picked up the new Technic 42022 Hot Rod today and on the box is a link to download the free app from iTunes. Just google "Lego Building Instructions app" for the link. I am using the ipad air version and IMO it is amazing. I think this is the only set available as of now but I would recommend trying it just to see what is coming our way No more need for PDF this is 3D rendering with 360 degree views and not sure of the term but you can see where the part you are working on will go in the outline of the finished model. It has a few neat features to try out as well. Now the…

For my final post of this year, I am proud to introduce the Range Rover Evoque with air ride. The car was too black so I added white, it was too low so I raised it a stud and the hood wasn't slanted enough so I re-created the front of the vehicle. I reduced the weight to 6.3 pounds (2850g) The car functions really well, I highly suggest using an S-brick for this car as the receivers are hidden behind the seats. This car has 4wd, air ride, torsion bar suspension, 2 XL motors for drive, 2 m motors for lift, V8, servo for steering, gear shifter turns on the lights. The car is finally to a perfect scale. The hard parts of this build was the air ride, torsion b…

Hi. I got into Lego at age 65 because of my grandson who lives and breathes this stuff. At first I thought he was nuts, but some of these sets are so beautifully designed that they are a pleasure to watch him build. He is 6 years old, and is very much into Ninjago and Star Wars. He has built all of the large Ninjago sets, the dragons and the Fire Temple, and he is into the ships from Star Wars. Anyway, we just built the Venator, and the "problem" with the build is that there are no "legs" or stand for the ship to rest on. The ship rests on nothing...it just sits there. We are trying to figure out a type of stand that might be built for it...nothing elaborate...something …

Hi, I am interested in building a modular display with my Lego sets. I have recently purchased the Cinema Display and Parisian Restaurant. I will also add a few more soon including Detectives Office, Brick Bank, and possible MOCs. I would love to have a crane in my city as I build the difference sets. I have looked at the Lego Technic Crawler Crane 42042, and it looks amazing, but I am worried about the scale. Does anyone have experience with the size of this crane as it sits next to modulars or can anyone offer advice on another crane option that is available or hasn't shot up too far in price after retirement? Thank you! I read these forums daily and love to lear…

Hey guys, new to the forum and need some help with a build. I don't know if I posted in the correct place. I love Legos and I love Datsun Z's (240z/260z/280z's) and I stumbled across these pics on the internet. This MOC is pretty awesome and looks exactly like my 240z, so of course I want to build one, to go with my car. I tried building one myself but I'm def not experienced enough. I used parts from these sets which seem to have about 90% of the parts in the build. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GSPF9QG http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NHQGKBM Anyone able to help me out here? I can send you my sets for the build. This should be pret…

Hey guys, so I really enjoyed making my first micro landscape MOC (Jakku) so I decided to make a really iconic scene from the original trilogy and decided to make a Battle of Hoth MOC on a 16x16 plate.I tried to get all the iconic parts from the film into the MOC. Inspiration from a few various sources and a few twists of my own!The one thing I am aware of is that the snow speeder is completely out of proportion with the scene however I tried to make smaller models and they just didnt look right. Therefore I have tried to give the illusion that the speeder is flying high up above the battle.Im really pleased with how this MOC has turned out and would be great to hear any …

Hi guys, here is a little MOC I put together. IMG_20161014_164521 by dimitrinicomanis, on Flickr I had a few spare bits lying around and had recently acquired a Tauntaun so I thought I would put it to good use! DSC_1899 by dimitrinicomanis, on Flickr DSC_1942 by dimitrinicomanis, on Flickr I wanted to make this as movie accurate as possible so that is why the colour palette on this build is more grey, to reflect the night time setting of the scene, rather than the traditional tan colours of Jabba's Palace. I should point out the gungan head isnt movie accurate but I put that in for a bit of fun! IMG_20161014_192613 by dimitrinicomanis, on F…

Anyone purchased the pdf/instructions to bricklink Chilli's? And how much did it all cost to complete? My wife loves the design and would like to add it to our small collection. Do we have any builders here that sold their work/custom designs?
