Hey, thinking about busting open a box today and building something. Which should I build and why? I have GE, PS, HH, PC, and the apparently unflippable Slave I. I have three GE and one is opened to verify contents because the seals looked funky I have three PS and one is damaged box thanks to our good friends at Wal-Mart. I have only one PC I have only one HH and have a feeling I better let that one be. I have one Slave I Which to build??

Here is a builders question for anyone who has put together any of the modular houses. We have a topic for Which is your favorite modular? with its own poll while here I would like to gauge what people have found to be the most challenging or easiest of all the modular houses when being built as well as what you would recommend to someone else as an enjoyable build experience. Note: It is not mandatory for the poll or even this thread to have built each modular house set in question. I do not expect anyone or everyone to have done so as it is rather unrealistic. Just share the experience for the ones you have and give your honest opinion on those.

So who here actually builds things along with their investing? I don't find quite the time anymore to build like I'd like to, but here are a few things I've made:

Looking for ideas on sets I can procure a decent amount and variety of tan and brown pieces from.. obviously if the sets are readily available, that would help. Jabbas Palace is the only thing I can think of, but not sure those minifigs would recoup enough of the purchase to make it worthwhile.

Will be building my city over the next couple of months. Is there anything that I should plan ahead, so i don't have to tear down and start over again. The layout of the city will be like an L shape. Its not going to be that big probably 8ft by 4 ft ( 8 being the longest part of L and 4 the shortest)

Does anybody keep batteries in their Legos? In other words, I have the Technic Motorized Excavator and am worried that if I don't use it the batteries may corrode.

Hey guys, I have just finished another build, which I would love to share with you all. I call this 'Jabba's PIzza Hutt' Jabba's Pizza Hutt by dimitrinicomanis, on Flickr For a change this is not related to any scene or landscape from the Star Wars saga but rather a bit of fun I was having with my newly acquired Jabba figure. I had quite a bit of fun with this, like the Emperor's order being number 66... Jabba's Pizza Hutt by dimitrinicomanis, on Flickr Jabba's tail being too big for his own restaurant! Over at Classic-Castle is the beginning of new contest titled "Castle goes to Space". If I am properly understanding the terms correctly, the core concept is to take an officially released set either Space related (Star Wars, Alien Conquest, Futuron, etcetera) and transform it into a Castle themed one or from the Castle side (Knights Kingdom, Vikings, Ninja, The Hobbit, so on) and turn it into a Space type design. (In short, Castle -> Space or Space -> Castle.) Here is a good example from a prior contest where the entry had 'Castlefied' set 7749 Echo Base from Star Wars. I suspect some ideas have better possibilities in making the transition from one era to the …

Does anyone have any good advice on how to remove a helmet from a minifig head? My son shoved on a Kre-o Transformer helmet onto a Lego minifig head, and the fit is so tight I can't get it off no matter how hard I try. Does anyone have any tips/tricks on the best non-destructive way to remove it? I guess worst case scenario I can try to tear the Transformer helmet apart... But that's a last resort. Thanks!

When I first got back into LEGO, I promised myself I'd stick to the Architecture series (the theme that got me back into LEGO) and a smattering of whatever I found interesting in Creator Expert and Lego CUUSOO/Ideas themes. But...I've run out of stuff to build! I'm thinking I need to "up it a notch" and start building UCS/Modulars to get my fix. I need projects that don't take one afternoon or even a whole day to build. I need a build that requires me to go to sleep before I awake to *possibly* finish it that day...Or the next. So far I have the following: 1. The whole Architecture series minus Trevi Fountain that my parents have "hinted" not so subt…

Imagine town hall with 9 floors :-) somebody did this? :-) I bought 3 to invest and 1 to build... The building was a great experience and a beautiful lego creation but I wondered how cool it would be to go higher :-)!

I have found that since I have gotten back in to Lego that sometimes when I look at buildings I am thinking of how I could build them out of Lego. Am I the only one?

Hey all, I just finished my first Modular MOC and thought it would be fun to share with everyone. I was trying to figure out what sets Lego would never make, and settled on a Dispensary...with an upstairs grow-op. My Minifigs are LOVING it ;D

What do you do with the extra parts that come with each set? I have been putting them in a Ziploc bag and putting them in the box for the set. When I was younger I would mix them in with my random parts. So, what it is your method?

We spent time buying and building LEGO which always tends to be fun. But sometimes, there's the unspoken task of taking apart sets, breaking them down, and storing them away in a giant box of LEGO to sort in 20 years or various bags. It's sometimes is unpleasant and challenging but fundamentally still apart of LEGO. So I figured I'd get it started. Start dis-assembling my 76042 SHIELD Helicarrier. So far, I'm going in reverse here. Here it is in its former resting location as a centerpiece. Time for the old girl to head to drydock. Managed to get one bag done. Only...many more to go. I might have underestimated how long this would take...

A tad late with this annual monthly building theme topic (considering MaKtoberfest already is in effect) so I apologize for that but anyway let's go with the flow and see what this year has brought. There is a ton of designs to search for and through as usual therefore this thread will take a while to fill up. In the meantime here are some fantastic space cruisers with more to come. So last night my wife convinced me of putting together a 10222 to be a part of our Holiday Village that we are displaying in our living room. The build was fun and the final outcome was awesome. I had put together last December the 10199 and thought it was, also, a cool, fun build with a sweet final result. The colors, the pieces - some of them were new to me -, the minifigures... Pretty enjoyable experience. The downside, my set came short of one piece, one of the unique pieces of this set, a brown 'sky', Brickset part 6020989. I have already contacted Lego over this, I expect them to ship the missing piece anytime now. First time this has ever happened in my…
