Wow. Great work by this fella. Too bad this larger vehicle wasn't released for the movie like the Sea Cow. https://www.flickr.com/photos/brickmasta/sets/72157644170959096/

Interesting article on the BBC site today about current day sets removing a lot of the imagination from building. Would be good to hear peoples views on this: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-29992974

So, worth a post here, board seems to be dead today Is there any current sets out there that are going to give me a nice brick/$$$ ratio for just building lego? the starter/builder boxes seem rather lame. I raided my old stash of Lego from my parents house and it has a bunch of 2x4 bricks, cloudy windows and not a lot of cool stuff like they have now. I sold off all the minifigs for 2x the black gate and am building the double black gate set up, but are there any other sets out there that just have a lot of bricks? Using the hobbit/LOTR as an example, other than Helms deep, and maybe the black gate, the sets seem to run high on the minifigs, and you almost nee…

Looking for ideas on sets I can procure a decent amount and variety of tan and brown pieces from.. obviously if the sets are readily available, that would help. Jabbas Palace is the only thing I can think of, but not sure those minifigs would recoup enough of the purchase to make it worthwhile.

Some sets are enjoyable for the build and the challenge but in your opinion which ones are/were fun to play with afterwards? Also what designs offered a lot of play features? Additionally for the parents what builds did you have fun putting together and/or playing with your children?

I am new to LEGO. I have bought maybe six or seven sets. I would like to expand my collection. I want to get bricks that are versatile and can be used in many different ways. I like to make my own creations, so I want to get bricks that will let me create my own ideas and not just variations of the set on the box picture. So my problem is that the sets in store are made mostly to create what's on the box. ( I know they can create more.) And the creative buckets have just square, blockish blocks. Plus the sets don't have the colors I need, or have colors I won't ever use. Mostly I like to make space ships, so green blocks don't look right. Other than buying individua…

Add this Warehouse to your train layout for a realistic industrial setting. With plenty of room for trains, trucks, offices, and a working crane, your city district's shipping yard is about to get a lot bigger! Efficient design minimizes amount of parts needed to maximize space by utilizing large plates for walls and the removable roof. (Technic bricks are included in the design on one side to allow connection with Cafe Corner standard structures.)

Downhaul Docks is a quaint village style fish market inspired by the coastal fishing towns of the northern Atlantic Ocean. Designed on a peninsula layout, the facility has three ports of entry for small, medium, and large ships. The base floor has room for seafood processing for the fishermen to trade with the sellers. Buyers can enter the upper market for fresh catches of the day or wander down to the lower dock to charter a boat of their own. With sea flags, a boardwalk style pier and nautical elements, this intricate design will surely roll with the tide in your bustling town! (Requires 756 pieces total.)

Featuring the streamline mobile home style of American diners from the 1930’s and 40’s, here is the Hot Dog Diner offering plenty of detail such as a counter dominating the interior with bright red high counter stools, napkin dispensers, condiment bottles and a dessert display. Set up your short order cook in the kitchen where a fully equipped grill, refrigerator, coffee machine and a microwave are ready for use. There is plenty of seating for your guests near the window and even a classic jukebox for some oldie but goodie entertainment. A removable roof for easy access and the building is fitted with technic pegs to connect to your existing modular collection. So "doo-wo…
