I was starting to sort my latest bulk lot today and while looking for an empty box I knocked over a large and growing stack of random instruction books that I've accumulated over the last four months or so. It got me wondering what others who sort any significant amount of bulk do with these. Do you sell them? I can't see much of a market for most of these. Some I file away in case some other bulk lot has the set but no instructions, but most just wind up in an ever growing pile.

What do you do with the extra parts that come with each set? I have been putting them in a Ziploc bag and putting them in the box for the set. When I was younger I would mix them in with my random parts. So, what it is your method?

Sorry if this topic was posted elsewhere. I searched but couldn't find. If your goal is MOC'ing, specifically city scenes (modular buildings, streets, railway, etc.), what's a better approach to gathering materials? Buying bulk on ebay or buying sets? For example, there's some discussion about the Tower Bridge being a good raw material set because of the high price per piece ratio. Would it therefore be better to buy that set? Assume I'm looking to build buildings in usual colors like dark brown, dark gray, tan, light blue, etc. Tower Bridge has a good amount of those. Or should I wait for what looks like a good ebay bulk sale in terms of the ki…

Hey guys! I came across a very talented Japanese builder, who makes videos of his pop-up building creations. From what I can gather they require more than 10K pieces and take him more than a year (200 hours) to make. What I'm more interested in though is how he generated the instructions and got the piece numbers at the end of this video: Did he use the Digital Designer to do the entire thing first? Take screenshots of each layer? Figure out the piece numbers for each? Is there some other tool he used to do this for him automatically? Quite an amazing monumental effort either way. Thanks in advance for any info, Jay

I finally completed this video. It's been sitting in my studio for years. I had to purchase about a dozen missing pieces from bricklink.com. I really enjoy this set because it's not often that Lego releases an all out "brick" sculpture made of basic bricks. I hope you enjoy the video.

I don't know who of you followed this, but quite some time ago there was this boy with autism who really is into LEGO and into the titanic, so he wanted to build a gigantic LEGO Titanic. It seems as if he's finally been able to build his dream and honestly I'm so happy for him! Here you can find his homepage: http://www.brynjarkarl.com/ Maybe some of you also appreciate this. To me this is so beautiful, because to me LEGO never really lost it's magic and this boy and his dream of building a titanic just represents a lot of this magic. I always feel reminded of my childhood and I'm just so happy if I see LEGO (don't know if you people can follow ;-) ).

This is one of my active LEGO Ideas projects - in case you like it I would like to ask you for your support if you will. https://ideas.lego.com/projects/130732 It also has its official building instructions at Rebrickable here (in case you like it, please, give it your support also there by clicking LIKE on that webpage): http://rebrickable.com/mocs/bublible/691522-geckoentaur-traxformer-buildable-version

Hello- Playing around with LDD and trying to come up with some alternatives for the 75192 back engine area. One avenue I'm exploring is connecting flat plates at an angle via a skeleton arm or space skeleton arm...however LDD will not let me connect the two. Any tips for getting around this?

Please don't hate me, I am new to collecting and I think I scored a huge find. I purchased a large lot from someone local which included a millineum falcon 10179 used in the box. No manual but original box , with the box being in a 5 out of 10 condition. When I opened it up there are the majority of the pieces and the mini figs . Many of the pieces still in original bags, some in ziplock and some loose. It looks like someone started on it and gave up. I now know this is a once in a lifetime find and am so blessed to discover it.. Here is my question Because I am new, I don't know if it is better to: 1. Build it , opening the bags to see how complete it is? 2. Leave…

I'm not looking to invest, just for a fun, interesting, and relatively long build, with a really nice looking and satisfying end product. Do you think I should go with Architecture or one of the Modular Buildings? Specifically, I'm torn between Palace Cinema or Imperial Hotel. Thanks!

I am kind of interested. I know this is an investing site so there will be more people who bought one to resell than to build - but I want to see the skew. Who specifically bought one to build and did just that?

So, worth a post here, board seems to be dead today Is there any current sets out there that are going to give me a nice brick/$$$ ratio for just building lego? the starter/builder boxes seem rather lame. I raided my old stash of Lego from my parents house and it has a bunch of 2x4 bricks, cloudy windows and not a lot of cool stuff like they have now. I sold off all the minifigs for 2x the black gate and am building the double black gate set up, but are there any other sets out there that just have a lot of bricks? Using the hobbit/LOTR as an example, other than Helms deep, and maybe the black gate, the sets seem to run high on the minifigs, and you almost nee…

What system do you use to sort and store for quick, easy access? I acquired a UHAUL sized load of parts that I want to use for building MOCs and need help. I am thinking some kind of wall-sized drawer-ed system but not sure what people have tested and like. Thanks for any help.

Hi, SO I stumbled upon the site "Light my Bricks". Pretty cool site and I was drawn to how they sell specific kits for specific sets, but I also naturally assumed they are up-charging quite a bit. I wanted to ask someone's opinion who has a lot of experience buying LED lights and mounting them in their displays. For example, they sell a lighting kit for a UCS Tie (Here). It looks like the kit comes with: 1 x Flat Battery Pack 5 x Bit Lights (White) 1 x Multi-Effects Board 2 x 6-Port Expansion Board 1 x Connecting Cable 5 cm 2 x CR2032 Batteries 3 x Assorted LEGO® pieces for assembly Lets say for argument sake I take advantage of their free…

So I've been sorting through me old Lego sets and pieces & I thought I'd try something. Anybody every try to build any classic sets and change the color to make your own custom variation? Here's a couple I came up with so far, from a couple of my earliest sets: The Classic Jeep 330-1 & Bi-Plane 430-1 Let me know what you think...unless this has been covered before. Thanks!

My soon to be 6 year old really want the Pet Shop modular for his upcoming birthday. He is very good at building by himself and can follow instructions. He doesn't have any big or hard sets yet. Log cabin, and Hagrid's Hut is the extent of it right now. I'm wondering if the Pet Shop will be too difficult for him and cause frustration. I'm leaning towards a couple of medium sets instead like the fire or police station. There's obviously part of me that really want the Pet Shop so I can build it with him : ) Does anyone have personal experience with younger kids building the modulars by themselves? Thanks

Hi there guys, I havent posted in a while but thats not because I haven't been building, I have just been away with work! I have a couple of builds to share with you starting with this... It is my recreation of the final scenes from Revenge of the Sith. As with all my MOCs I have kept this on a 16x16 base. Here it is in comparison to the actual scene from the film... Quite a fun build this, especially making the Death Star look like it is in the early stages of construction. And I loved the fact I could use the new style Vader and Tarkin (From A-Wing vs Tie Advanced set) as I think they are two really good looking mini figs…
