Building LEGO

Talk about the builds you have done. Were they fun, difficult, do you recommend it? Please share!!!

  1. i don't know the seller (out of Poland) but do know when building 10179, this element can get expensive and is often needed. Seller has 10 available. feedback looks "ok". it seems they have been selling 10179 elements since last nov. does the radar dish look "legit" ? i don't have 10179 so i'm no help. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lego-Star-Wars-Millennium-Falcon-10179-part-/121159751532?pt=Building_Toys_US&hash=item1c35af176c they sell for much more on bricklink. http://www.bricklink.com/search.asp?itemID=76248&colorID=86 here is what the actual item in ebat looks like.

  3. I guess it's because the Gallery is kind of that button that's hiding in plain sight, but I believe not many people have seen my MOCs I've put there yet (or any of the other uploads there by others). So, for those who only pay attention to the forum posts, here's a link...to the Gallery! LFoW's MFZ MOCs. This is a small collection of my mini-mech models I build for a LEGO tabletop game by the name of Mobile Frame Zero: Rapid Attack, where you build the mechs you use as gamepieces, the terrain, and the guns all out of LEGO (or similar brands). I'll be doing a large in-depth blog or forum post on it soon, so look for that in the future! …

  4. As a kid I had a ton of Lego, but I've spent the last few years moving between many countries. I've finally settled down and I asked my parents to send my Lego bricks from the other side of the world to here, but I've missed out on many interesting releases. My favorite themes are Castle and Pirates, and I've always enjoyed doing Castle-themed MOCs as a kid. I was wondering, what could be an effective way to collect bricks that would be useful for Castle-themed MOCs? With the 2013 sets out of production their price is not very wallet friendly around here, and the older 2010 Kingdoms are even worse from that point of view. I could always hit Bricklink or some local store …

My teenage daughter is interested in diving into the world of larger MOCs, even builds that might be 10's of thousands of pieces. Where does one begin with this? Is the LegoDD software the best route? We definitely plan to utilize BL for parts. Are there good tutorials to read or videos to watch for giant MOCs?

I am pleased to announce my most complicated and rewarding build, the Lykan Hypersport. The lego car blog: https://thelegocarblog.com/2017/02/16/you-cant-put-a-price-on-exclusivity/ Flickr album: https://flic.kr/s/aHskUnVDew It all started with framework. I had to design it so it wouldn't have any motors in the back or the front of the wheels. Most of my previous builds have been too large in those areas, so I tried create more room with this build. This is a really early version of the framework.. a lot has been changed for the final version Some of my main goals for this build were to create as many realistic functions possible…

I need help. I'm super indecisive and want to know what people think about this. The idea came to me so I photoshopped it today and have all the parts (minus a few hundred I would get by pick-a-bricking) in my bricklink carts and it'd be about $250 total to do. I love it...but I thrive on other's opinions...sooo...

So I've been sorting through me old Lego sets and pieces & I thought I'd try something. Anybody every try to build any classic sets and change the color to make your own custom variation? Here's a couple I came up with so far, from a couple of my earliest sets: The Classic Jeep 330-1 & Bi-Plane 430-1 Let me know what you think...unless this has been covered before. Thanks!

I took my boys to the Richmond VA Lego Fest this last weekend. I was really impressed that Lego kept my boys excited about building 4.5 hours. Lots of builds and games to play with no lines. My wife and daughter were supposed to attend but had to attend a soccer tournament. Boys day out was awesome. Enjoy the video.

I just finished editing the Lego Ideas WALL-E set. I purchased and included in the video the Head Mount Modification Kit that was designed by Chris McVeigh.

I am slowly building my own City in a spare room I have. I was contemplating putting in real water in certain places for boats, fountains, pools, etc. Does anyone know if being in water long-term does any damage to Lego pieces? (Btw I would only use bottled water)

After seeing a post on The Brother's Brick, I got inspired and decided to create my own small scale THE LEGO MOVIE logo. Because of my lack of pieces, I had to construct a cube and build the words over it. I know that grey is not the ideal color, but that is what I had. I still want to buy some pieces on Pick-A-Brick to finish off the texture on the front. Here's the back: Comments, criticisms, and suggestions welcome!

Just finished this up, figured I'd post it up. The goal was to leave the Haunted House set untouched but to build around it. I also wanted to be able to open the house. All in all I'm happy with how it turned out. Thoughts and comments appreciated.

Most of you will know R2D2 from Star Wars and of course the LEGO Set might be on your list when it comes to investments. (I guess if some investors did actually build the sets they own they could build a small droid army ^.^ ) Since it's an awesome LEGO model I guess that a lot of you own one for yourselves as well. Doing most important research on the internet I found some nice R2D2 MOCs/Versions that I'd like to share with you all because I think they are awesome and add some spice to the normal model. Hope you enjoy them.

Was working on parting out Set 21151 The End Battle, and came across these. Codes you can enter in the game for Skins. Also, I like seeing all the new parts that come out, and also everyone’s favorite parts so I thought I’d start a new thread dedicated to it.

I want to build my 75094 but want to display it on a stand. I've seen a few perspex ones but to be honest I'd rather it was a Lego made effort. Would anyone on here be willing to share their instructions with me? Thanks

  19. Anyone know of any website that has Modular MOC's step by step instructions? I know there are many that you have to pay for. But are there any that have free instructions and guides?

Hi All... I caught the Lego bug after my 6 year old spotted a Star Destroyer on sale at Target about 8 months ago that he thought was "really cool". Anyways that was the beginning of the end and I've unfortunately lost most of my self control and now have a house full of Legos, quite a few sealed sets in the basement, and probably a couple hundred pounds or more of assorted random legos partially organized lol. In the interim I've Bricklinked a 10179 and am now working my way through a Death Star II (also brinklinked). I'm now trying to get a bit more serious about organizing everything to cut down on the endless searching so on to my question... Have any of you put t…

For those with large city's landscapes etc... Baseplates have not taken a huge jump in pricing. I need a lot of baseplates. Like 30-40. What is the best source, does anyone use non, lego baseplates? The idea of dropping crazy money just on baseplates eeks me.
