The Mini Shop Series CUUSOO Project is nearing its goal of reaching full support and will be up for review eventually. While we're waiting for those results (and just for fun) how about we have a little vote for our favorite of them all? As Darth Lego even mentioned in another thread, there are good advertising possibilities to let Lego create a set for their brand, so anything can be possible in theory. Lego has done promotions with McDonald's in the past before, so there's one.

Now this isn't my project, and I wouldn't usually post about a project (because if we did that there would be innumerable threads on here!) but this one has caught my attention! I'm not even sure how far-reaching Pingu was/is but it was definitely important in my childhood - it was a cartoon my younger siblings liked that I also, being older, could see was funny and enjoyable. I was searching on flickr for something else completely and somehow stumbled across this Japanese knockoff item that looks like the worse LEGO set I've ever seen. I know the actual LEGO design will be nothing remotely this horrible, but this was so bad I just had to share it. Here's the original source.

I guess I am a little confused on the whole Idea of CUUSOO. So once it gets 10,000 suporters then what? Does it go to production for retail sale? The reason why I ask is because all the hype about Purdue Pete reaching 10,000 in just a few days. Is it on its way to retail shelves? I for one have no interest in this, and I imagine that few people outside Purdue students or Alumni would either. I am an Arizona State graduate so you can see why this does not interest me in the slightest.

Science Adventures achieved 10,00 supporters. This is the follow up to the Research Institute. I'm not sure if Lego would head down this path again or not, probably depends on what the competition is at the time. Here's an Ideas set that I came across today: UCS Landspeeder. It's up to about 3,000 supporters already. I really like the look of this set. It looks pretty close to what I'd imagine a set ready to go would appear.
