I had the pleasure to see the exhibit in New York two years ago, and to preview the brand new Seattle exhibit on Thursday night. It is a fantastic show, and the Pacific Science Center has used a large exhibition space for the show, allowing ample space to walk around the 3D art pieces and see them from multiple perspectives. The show opens this Saturday, 5/28 and will remain in Seattle through September 11th.The gallery begins with LEGO re-creations of famous paintings and sculpture. One of my favorites was “The Great Wave off Kanagawa”I have prepared a preview and gallery of the Seattle exhibit at my website. The article includes photos of about 1/3 of the art on di…

I had the great pleasure of attending the four-day BrickCon Convention this past weekend, here in Seattle. Now in it's 15th year, BrickCon is one of the longest running shows in the country. It was my third year attending the full convention; I also visited the Public Expo three times before that.Los Angeles City Hall, by Bruce Heller. We had an amazing selection of LEGO models on display, about 25% more MOC's were registered this year than last year! My passion is LEGO Architecture, and I was rewarded with amazing models of the Norwegian Opera House, Los Angeles City Hall, and a massive model of Mont Saint-Michel to name a few.Mont Saint-Michel.Not to worry, there was …

I'm a huge Lego collector but I have a few Duplo blocks as well, plus some huge Megablok Maxi size that my wife bought. I can connect Lego above or below Duplo, which is great -- especially for building huge structures. I can snap Megablok Maxi above my Lego or Duplo, but I'd like to snap them below. The height/width dimensions line up, but the huge rounded pegs above Megabloks won't be accepted by Duplo above. Does anyone know of Lego or Duplo pieces that will accept Megabloks below? I had success with the Duplo Thomas Trains lid/building-piece... it accepts Megabloks. Any similar pieces would be helpful.

I just found out about a brick fair 4 hours away and was wondering if anyone has gone to one and what was it like? I am new to lego so I would be using it as a learning tool kind of like a trade show. They sell lego there as well so I could come across some deals. Here's the link http://www.brickfair.com/afol/

Hello Everyone! Lunchbot by littlegreenfroggy, on Flickr Backlunchbot by littlegreenfroggy, on Flickr We are Lunchbox Electronics and we wanted to reach out to the amazing community of LEGO lovers everywhere! We have just launched a kickstarter to hopefully fund our dream into a reality. We are a small start up in Boulder, CO and have created Light Up bricks that will be compatible with LEGO sets! We wanted to get rid of all the pesky wires and make nice elegant bricks that will be able to pass power and ground to then light up our LED bricks! We are doing this with custom bricks molded with metal inside! We are trying to spread the word about our kickstarter a…

Central Europe Investors: protect your investment and satisfy your desire to build your LEGO sets. One of the easiest ways to burn the money you invested in LEGO is to open a MISB set, just because you always wanted to build that special model. You will decrease the value faster than you can change your brickfolio entry from

An article about Legos in this week's New York Times Style Magazine: http://tmagazine.blogs.nytimes.com/2014/04/08/by-design-the-shape-of-things/ Enjoy! Some of my favorite quotes from the article (boldface mine): This summer, the author and artist Douglas Coupland will have an exhibition in Vancouver that will feature a suburb of 100 identical Lego houses, each one made from a 1969 kit that, he says,

Hi everyone. Just seeing if there are any fellow collectors who had a chance to go to Brick Fest (Brick Fiesta) today at the Mesquite Convention in Mesquite,TX. I dropped by this morning and they had some really great customs set up. There were also several vendors but there stuff was so expensive. Anyway, they are having it for one more day on Sunday from 11-4.
