Does anybody know if there's a software out there that could help me in building/designing objects with Lego blocks? For example, fake coffee mugs, desk lamps, tables... I know it's a longshot but it'd be very helpful, my wife has this idea to make some of our living room objects from Lego blocks (no, not the sofa cushions) and I wanted to know if there's a tool that could help me with that. Thanks!

For anyone in the tri-state area this weekend (4/5-4/6), there's a Lego Friends celebration event at Legoland Discovery Center Westchester in Yonkers, NY this weekend. Annual Pass members can get in one day early (4/4) for a "sneak peek". (And yes, you must bring a kid with you!) http://www.legolanddiscoverycenter.com/westchester/news-events/event/1146/lego-friends-weekend.aspx Some details: LEGO

I have bought some bulk lots of used Lego for our eBay and Bricklink business. I'm not thrilled with how well (they don't) sell on eBay for the price I want, and I would rather keep our Bricklink store 99% or better new parts. I have noticed when buying bulk lots from the sources I'm using that I end up with a lot of what look to me like mostly-complete or perhaps even complete sets. What I would like to do, pending further research and cups of coffee, is to clean and sort these incoming Lego, make a nice big friendly spreadsheet of all the parts I glean from these bulk lots, and enter all those parts into a special dazzling Lego database of happiness which wi…

Hey everybody, I was just wondering if anybody could tell me where to find old lego catalogues online. I've already found 2013 and 2012 but couldn't find 2011 or 2010... etc. Would appreciate any help, maybe you could upload it here or post a link. (Would be nice though to have a collection available here I guess). As the files are too big I cannot attach them here, but here are links: http://www.brickstore.at/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/lego_juli-dezember_2013.pdf http://cache.lego.com/Flash/Portal/OnlineCatalog/Version11/pageflipdata/pdf/lego_juli_dezember_2012.pdf

I'm working on an article that explores how to better understand and apply the concepts of "scale" to create better LEGO models. This raises a pretty fundamental question which I do not feel has been adequately answered within the LEGO community - what is the "scale" for the common LEGO figures we use in our models. Minifig / Minidoll Naturally, we want to start with the classic "minifigure", as well as the newer "minidoll" which has similar width and height. I calculated a value of 1:42 for the classic minifigure, and a value of 1:38 for the Minidoll. The minidoll has fairly realistic proportions, so I feel pretty good about that value. What do you think …

Not sure if anyone ever posted photos of this or not. It traveled from Legoland Florida to the 40th Anniversary of the Mustang Club of America Event in Indianapolis this weekend. Event is at the 500 Motor Speedway. Hundreds of Mustangs from all over! There is a contest to give # of bricks used to build the Mustang. Wow!! It is awesome!! Enjoy!

This is somewhat old, but recently it has been in the news again due to the upcoming orbital insertion of the Juno spacecraft around Jupiter. I thought it was neat, so decided to share this. The Juno spacecraft is due to start orbital insertion manoeuvres tomorrow. Once in orbit, it will begin sending data back to earth, hopefully revealing much about the atmosphere and magnetic field of the planet. It will be the closest a spacecraft has ever been to the planet. The Juno spacecraft is carrying three Aluminium figures. The specially-constructed LEGO Minifigures are of the Roman god Jupiter, his wife Juno, and "father of science" Galileo Galilei. The i…

I am literally glued to my monitor from the moment I wake up to the moment I go to sleep. This addiction is crazy!! It's worse than smoking!! One time I ripped my brother's tablet from his hands and in ten seconds knew everything that was happening in the forums. Care to name a time your BP addiction got to you? I'm anxious to here others stories. Think of this like a small group session!

I am looking to get back into stop motion animation and wanted a nice software for it. I have already seen dragon frame, but it seemed on the expensive side and a bit to much for what I needed. I would just like a software that will convert a bunch of images into a movie so that I can add sound, export it, and make it go viral. Thanks in advance!

I am starting to get a lot of discount promotions. This is not Lego related, but maybe someone wants to buy a new Lego game, or new supplies for the PS4 or XBOX One. This is a one day special today November 21st. If you buy online and do local pickup, you will get $10 off any order of $50 or more. Xmas time is here too, so its a way to save a few bucks that will be spending most likely anyhow. Click here!

I just caught this in the news feed and Brickshow is reporting there will be Mega Man based sets from off brand Nanoblocks which you may remember Brianl3 has written a blog on. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qi-6vfzKRkw All I can say is....really? A BIG name like Capcom and they go with a brand most have not even heard of or possibly care about. Plus the designs are basically renditions of 8-bit sprites from the NES which is kinda geeky cool but typically done for fun with your own bricks and hardly fits as an actual set. A line which could have been a minifigure goldmine with numorous playsets and enemies instead was allowed to be turned into a collection of thre…

Let's say I was planning to post images for some of my own creations, I would like to get some feedback from fellow members that have used or still use any one of these image uploading type of sites. Aside from being a "Which is better or worst?" question, I am trying to find out a list of pros & cons. I have added a poll in case you do not feel like leaving a response. flickr - Brickshelf - MOCpages If you know of another similiar site or sites, please let me know.

My backordered Winter Holiday Train arrived and the shipping box included this "collect them all" sticker. Normally, I'd just give something like this away, but if there's some mystery or bigger game to it, I'd hold onto it. It seems silly in its simplicity and plainness to make 4 generic brick stickers a worthy marketing campaign. Oh wait, maybe if you collect all 4, you get banned. I see what's going on now.

I have said before that I get some emails about good specials. I know nothing of this computer, but I know that there are some tech people here on the site. Here is a Chromebook for $169.00 on eBay, direct from Acer. Maybe you need a spare laptop to do things, maybe you always wanted to try something like this. Anyhow, here is the deal. So far they sold over 1,000 in 24 hours. Free shipping too! Acer 11.6" Chromebook 2GB 320GB Chrome OS| C710-2847
