Trains

Discussion for collecting and investing with Train themed sets.

  1. Started by legopandaoctopi,

I am the proud owner of a full Santa FE train, this includes 5 carriages and two engine carriages for each end, neither with boxes or instructions unfortunately :/ .I also own a smaller vintage train with a electronic engine and alot of track! I have been wondering for a while now what this would be worth and how rare these sets are! Any help would be great!!

  2. Started by jaisonline,

Was it a very limited release in 2004? I can't find too much info on it.

Any tips on how to start collecting Lego train pieces now that I've missed out on quite a few sets. Hoping there are some tips in finding deals.

Holy smokes... so I found my Santa Fe engine that I had stored in a box but I'm missing a few pieces: 2 light grey bars, 1 3x3 light grey round corner, and 1 9v light grey decorative side. The one hole in the red base plate cracked as I had the 9v motor attached to it and was on its side the whole time and two of the grey 2x3 curve tops are scratched. So I want to replace those 3 pieces. Anyway, bricklinking them is gonna cost me 40 dollars! Should I even bother getting these pieces or should i just sell it as is on ebay?

The ones in your collection, not for re-sale. =P My Rolling Stock 1 X Red Cargo Train 3677 1 X Passenger Train 7938 1.75 X Maersk Train 10219 (1 Engine + 4 Flatbed Cars) 1.5 X Emerald Night (1 Engine + 2 Passenger Coaches) "Kinda Rolling Stock" 1 X Public Transport Tram 8404 (need to mod this so it becomes one long tram instead of 2 short ones) 2013 Planned Additions 1 X Public Transport Tram (extending the length of the other one) 2 X Emerald Night Passenger Coaches 1 X 7939 Cargo Train (Might not keep all the coaches since it's just the locomotive + octan cars that interest me). 2 X Middle coaches for my 7938 I really wish Lego sold all these separa…

  8. I'm getting ready to turn my son's wooden push train table (like Thomas) into a smaller sized lego train table. Just wondering if many of you use baseplates under your track? His trains will be the Ghost Train, Potter's Hogwarts Express with 2 cars and a caboose, and the Toy Story Western one. I have both 9v and PF track. I will most lilely use the PF track (save the 9v for Christmas time) around the tree. Trains speeds will be kept slow in the table. I will also remove the motor from time to time to allow him "push the train" time.

  10. I have castles from the mid-1980s so i know the color diff. I was wondering more about the track quality and design. The dark gray tracks are far more available and cheaper in most cases than the dark bluish gray.

This set is bringing back big money! It was sold for $40 new and there isn't one available for less than $400. http://www.brickpicker.com/bpms/set.cfm?set=10022-1 That is like 1000% increase from MSRP. WOW!!!!!
