  2. Greetings from a military member living in England. My interest into Lego's began as a child in the late 70's early 80's when my mother would buy sets for her and I to build. I had so much fun with them it has continued today. I still have a few of the sets from my childhood but unfortunately most were sold a long time ago at yard sales. Being in the military brat as a child and then joining myself has put a strain on my collection. I have roughly 100-150 sets. Moving every 3-5 years has become a real pain. Most of my sets are in storage right now but I do have a lot with me. My Achilles heal here in England is when they opened the Leicester square Store and whene…

Hi. I'm new to this site. I'm selling my son's used Lego sets (I'm in Australia). I have used this website to determine the used value of his sets. There are approx. 60 sets all with instructions. We are wanting to sell as a bulk lot, without sorting the individual sets. (They are however sorted into colours). My question is, how much less should I expect for the lot given that it is mixed. Would 50% of the used value price for the lot be reasonable without underselling? Any advice from Lego enthusiasts would be greatly appreciated. Apologies if this topic has been covered before.

Hi all, As mentioned previously I've had a brickpicker account for a long time, but only just joined the forum mainly to sell my sets.

  6. Hi, I'm from the UK and will be selling all my sets soon, including 10225-1: R2-D2, 21009-1: FARNSWORTH HOUSE, plus other sets and quite a few polybags. Nice to meet you all!

Greetings all, So in 2011 I started hoarding Lego... not bulk sets, but I had an obsession with buying one of each. This year I realized how much I had been spending and had to cut it off and start cleaning it out. I had no idea how much the stuff was going to rise in value and I started with the most valuable sets and cleared out my 50 per month on eBay without having to pay any listing fees. I got tired of being that chick who had two full rooms in her house loaded with bags of Lego sets. I've never hoarded anything else, but for some reason I started buying Lego sets. I was able to go cold turkey thankfully starting January 1, 2017, and just want to clear them …

Hi everybody, My Lego journey started this year when I decided to buy my first two sets. (one to keep - one to sell) Since then there is no turning back... I have been reading the forum for a few months now and without knowing it already you have provided me a lot of information and answered many of my questions. Glad to be part of the community.

Hello all: I’ve been a lurkin’ noob for sometime now and only recently begun to post. I’m a 35 year old Midwestern transplant living in the south. I’m a father of two and my children helped me rediscover my love of Lego from when I was a child. I only recently became interested in collecting and selling Lego, oddly as a means to stop smoking. My previous collecting obsession was cigars. I learned a lot from the hobby—shipping, storage, buy-in vs resale. I even became a novice woodworker and built two cabinet humidors. But since my children came along I decided a more healthy hobby should replace my love of cigars, so I replaced one obsession with another. I buy most …

Hi everyone, Lego fan from MA here. I've been lurking around here for a while now (2012 or so?) and figured it's time to introduce myself. I've been collecting Lego since I found my childhood collection back in 2007. Since then, my collection has grown from one small box to a room full of old and new sets. I'm looking forward to contributing and speculating with everyone! See you around!

  15. Hi Everyone. My name is Ruben and I'm a new member. I'm not a collector, but I've enjoyed playing with lego since I was a kid. My oldest boy is 10 and is a huge lego fan, as is my 6 year old girl. I'm interested in buying new lego at a discount and I was looking at the Target Lego discounts (Merchant discount page) page on brick picker. I just checked, and almost all the listings there are either not available or they are far more than the price listed on the brick picker page. How often is it updated?

Hello all! I am new to Brick Picker and am very glad I stumbled across the site! I am a 36 year old father from Virginia Beach, Virginia currently residing in Western North Carolina. I have always been interested in LEGO but they have always been a little to far out of reach price wise. I recently started investing in them and was currently wondering if I open them and put them together does that diminish the value? Even if the instructions and box are kept in pristine condition? Thanks for considering!

Hello everybody! I'm new on the site. I played with LEGOS all the time from 8-12 than sorta lost interests and changed completely. Lost all the sets I had as well sadly. A couple of weeks ago I stopped in a LEGO store just to check it out and It was a pretty happy feeling looking at all the Star Wars sets. I hadn't picked up a set in about 6 or 7 years. I spotted the Clone Wars Yoda Starfighter set and couldn't resist. I brought it home and put it together and I forgot how fun it was. It rejuvenated my affection for LEGOS all over again. I'm now getting back into it completely and look at it has a very enjoyable hobby to find sets and put them together and…

Hello to you all, I'm new to this LEGO collecting stuff. When I was younger I built sets a lot and after talking to a LEGO store owner near my area, he pretty much sparked my interest of LEGOs all over again. My main interest in sets is Star Wars. I don't dislike the other stuff but I only really pay attention to Star Wars sets. I don't really know anyone in real life that is well informed on LEGOs and how investing and all that good stuff works. Basically just looking for some friends and anyone who can help a noob out. ?

So, I have been collecting and investing in Lego for 7+ years. I bought the Black Pearl for my son during Black Friday. Put it in my closet and forgot about it. Discovered it while looking for something else and decided to take a look at the prices on Ebay. I don't have anyone to talk to regarding this hobby, so that is why I am here.

  22. Hi everyone. My name is Aaron. I'm a long time AFOL. I have huge collection and sadly must part with it. Bad financial times. I was hoping to find a forum for selling an entire collection. I'm still exploring this site so I'm not sure yet if this is the place to do that. Any suggestions are welcome.

Good Afternoon from the far east! Long time maker (model maker, prop builder, Lego creator, etc.) that read a news article last year about Lego sets being investment worthy while I was on deployment and had tons of free time on my hands. After reading some more articles and finding out that there is a real community of folks buying and selling Lego for money, I got even more interested. I bought a couple sets about a year ago that are now sitting and collecting dust in my closet, hoping for the day they jump in value. I have some questions though... How long does it normally take for a set to increase in value enough to justify selling it off? I am…

Hey, everybody. I've been a member of the site for a couple years now but never been really active in the forums. Like many others, I was a huge fan of Lego growing up but lost my way as I grew older. As younger relatives became interested in Lego, and I had more disposable income, I found my way back. I've started collecting again and catching up on lost time. It's been great chasing the deals and building up my collection but it's time start unloading some of my sets too. I'm looking forward to joining the discussion and using this great resource to become a more informed buyer and seller.

Hello, I have joined Brickpickers a little while ago but only lurked and now that I have a few sets under my belt finally decided to say hello. So far I have found the site and the forum very enlightening and while I check the site regularly don't post often.
