Ok - I just started LEGO investing. I have done research and read the many brickvesting articles on this website. I have only purchased complete sets so far. There are so many seasoned investors, sellers and flippers on this website that I have learned a great deal from and hopefully one day - I won't feel like such an amateur. So here I go - another question from the amateur for the many seasoned investors/sellers/flippers out there - where does one begin the LEGO minifigure collection? Which ones should be purchased first? Which ones are easy to flip? Finally, which ones should be bought and held for the long-term? Thanks for all the help.

Hey guys, Today I won an item on eBay for 10 Lego sets from the construction series. Most of the sets have been retired for quite a while, all of them new and sealed. Here are the sets that I won and the price indicated on the set site over here at BP: 7746-1: Single-Drum Roller: $ 23.96 7685-1: Dozer: $ 46.67 Here's where the juicy part starts: 7998-1: Heavy Hauler: $ 72.58 7344-1: Dump Truck: $ 72.94 7632-1: Crawler Crane: $ 76.80 7243-1: Construction Site: $ 115.46 7900-1: Heavy Loader: $ 139.89 7249-1: XXL Mobile Crane: $ 146.72 7633-1: Construction Site: $ 175.34 7905-1: Building Crane: $ 196.22 This all adds to roughly $1061. I got them all…

  5. I have one of the Gold Chrome 1-10000 C3POs that were given away at Comic Con a few years back. I need to have it evaluated and have its condition legally documented. Does anyone know of a reliable appraiser for Legos in the Orange County/LA County area of Southern California? Thanks. Theatrix

  7. Hi all, first time poster and new to this forum so apologies if I'm posting in the wrong place... I've recently pulled down a bunch of my LEGO sets from childhood as I've got a young child myself now, and thinking about selling some of the bigger sets which I understand are worth quite a bit of money now. I've got a Skulls Eye Schooner (complete) and an Imperial Trading Post (6277-1), which is MOSTLY complete with the exception of one minifigure - the Imperial Guard Admiral (Admiral Woodhouse). I understand this is a rare part, so any advice on how this would effect resale value? One qualifying factor is that I DO have a Governor Broadside minifigure from th…

Hi, I'm trying to buy some power functions parts, specially the 8884 IR receiver, but Lego LEGO Shop at Home doesn't allow me to buy in the quantities that I need. Because I don't live in the US, Lego education doesn't ship to me. Do you know any stores that sell the power functions line without restrictions in their quantities and at reasonable prices? Regards, Brickbr

A guy on Eurobricks just posted that he is willing to sell a used cafe corner and is willing to negotiate the price. He has taken the model apart and put it in baggies and has sealed the box with the instructions and no missing pieces. He will ship to the U.S. and Canada, so if you're looking to get a good deal on a used set that goes for over $600 when used here's your chance. The link- http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=72781&pid=1366958&st=0e;ntry1366958; The only question I have with this though is will the value continue to rise or is this the peak since the set has lost value the last 2 months with last month being a 2.5% drop

My mother had a Lego Model Team 5540 sitting in a closet for YEARS. She gave it to my son today as a birthday gift. It is brand new in the box, one side-seal is broken and there are some minor scrapes/rips on the box but, not on any of the pictures. This isn't the light blue box but, the dark blue one with the flap that opens to reveal the inner plastic tray. I'm trying to figure out what the value of this thing would be. Based on the "Average" value, I see around $50, however, I've also seen numbers between $100-200 and there are some people selling them on ebay for $400-695 (which is nuts). My son only cares about the value on this because he is saving up …

A small padded envelope I sent to another trader is showing "Undeliverable as Addressed". Anyone seen this before. Before the tracking showed this it was "Out for Delivery" to the correct location. Does this mean the mailmen just decided not to deliver the package?

  14. I found this post by Brickpicker member, John Crumpton, to be very helpful to me and I would like to make more people aware of it. I often find myself reading assorted LEGO blogs and forums and as an American, I often am not familiar with various stores that sell LEGO bricks in the UK and other European countries. I am trying to educate myself on the differences between American stores and various UK and European stores and appreciated the effort John put into his reply. The thread might also be helpful to other Brits who are not familiar with all of the following stores. Thanks John. To other members, please feel free to add some other stores from the UK or other…

Recently I bought lots that had sets that had been partially opened. Some of the bags had been opened but others were still sealed. How would you go about selling those? Would you assemble what was loose and leave the rest in the bags and sell it that way or would you open everything and build it to sell as used? Previously I had a set like this that I did the first method, but I don't know what is the best way. Which method makes the most sense and makes it easiest to sell? Honestly I am not too thrilled with the idea of busting open all the remaining bags to the10188 just to try to sell it as used, but I will if that's the best method.

I came across this site today while link-hopping: https://openbazaar.org/ It bills itself as a peer-to-peer trading platform for physical goods, leveraging BitCoin (instead of paypal or fiat money in general) to "make online commerce cheaper and more free than ever before." Is this the next big thing? or a flash in the pan?

  18. Went to a garage sale and they were selling new lego sets for really cheap. I got a rebel U-wing set never been opened and also vaders tie fighter vs a wing starfighter. I had an idea to find more garage sales like this and sell the findings I get online. The lowest listings I can find online is 53.00 +10.00 shipping(ebay) for the first and 56.79 +free shipping (walmart) for the second. Should I sell these on bricklink, ebay, or another form of storefront or if anyone here is interested let me know where you would like me list them, and if someone wants to negotiate a price I was thinking in the ballpark of 40.00 with 10 shipping. I don't really know how much l…

Hi, I am hoping someone may lead me to the right direction on where I can find clamshell packaging like the Build A Minifigure at the Lego store. Prefer to have slots for 5 figures if possible. If anyone have any idea where I can get them that would be greatly appreciated!

  20. (if this isn't posted in the proper forum, sorry!...not a clue where else this should go) ===== Once per year I, along with a handful of others, gather various toys, etc. for local children's hospitals, programs, etc. We do not get paid for any of this and all of our time is donated. However, they do allocate certain funds each year for various products. I have been asked to get "as much jungle sets as possible" and the funds I have left for this fiscal year is 400. Boxes can be damaged but bags must be sealed. I have to use these funds by 7/30 or it goes back into the fund pool. I'm in no way looking for a handout but probably can't go paying crazy pre…

I've bought a few lots of unsorted bricks lately, and after picking out a few sets I was looking to get rid of some of them. What's the best way to make the most money with them? Better to sort by color or by type?

And this is pretty obvious to those who have been out and about quite a bit the last few weeks, but the holidays have really cleared out a lot of the stragglers in the Lego aisle. There used to be remnants of Atlantis, Alien Invasion, PotC, '11/'12 Creator, Harry Potter, etc. left in the Walmarts, Targets, and TRUs of the world, but the holidays have pretty much cleared all that out. Those last sets you were trying to pick up cheap when they went on sale are pretty much all gone. I was even at my local Barnes and Noble yesterday looking for a book and the Lego was pretty much cleared out there as well. 2 weeks ago, they were stuffed with it. Bottom line, if you …

When it comes to any "collection" I use the rule of 2 or 3. I usually find this is the best way to get rid of a collection. Problem listing it all is usually bigger the lot the less you will make per set. But if you sell it all individuall, the less desirable pieces may not sell. So I like to group them in small groups to ensure everything will get bought, and so I ddon't limit my buyers with a giant lot and don't end up screwed because only one or two people are bidding. I would keep them as sets grouped by theme. Just my 2 cents.
