  1. Apologies for the lengthy title, and I'm certain others must have known and discussed this on the boards before, but I read an op-ed in the Hill today “A 40 percent postal rate increase is bad for Americans, bad for the Postal Service,” and couldn’t believe it, so I wanted to confirm its content and I went to the source and found the original document on the PRC website. Order 4258 published on 12/1/17 outlines on page 78-79 a proposed 40% increase to USPS rates over the next five years.

  3. Welcome to Week 3 of the Top 10 Best Selling LEGO sets as listed by LEGO S@H. How does this Blog work? While the LEGO Shop at Home best sellers list is updated weekly, we will be updating it every Wednesday. The list includes only sets. Minifigures, keychains, Pick a Brick and other products are excluded. If not enough sets are listed on the S@H Best Sellers page, the weekly entry could be shorter than 10 sets. I will comment only on those sets that are new to the list, or that for whatever reason may stand out on a particular week. For example, if a set has been on the list for 10 weeks in a row, then it may warrant a commen…

  4. LEGO opened its largest store to date on Wednesday May 11, 2016 at the Shanghai Disney Resort in China. Lego said in a statement the Chinese market was "one of the best performing markets in 2015". Lego is also setting up a factory in China which should be operational in 2017 in Jiaxing, 100 kilometers from Shanghai. Links to Reuter and Baidu for video and pictures from the opening day. 5. I picked up this set and put it down in the store so many times, I just can't recall. Nothing about it made me want to build it or own it. Clash of the Heroes was not speaking to me. One day I thought of something that amused me. I decided that if I was going to do it, instead of describing the building process, I would tell a story and put the pictures in reverse order to tell it. You'll still see the build in steps, but I'm not going to give my thoughts about each little chunk. I'll give you my reaction at the end of the review like I normally do. For now, I ask your indulgence as I play with my LEGO a little bit. To differentiate this from the more serious reviews…

  6. Dorling Kindersley's first Lego Star Wars dictionary of sets was published in 2009. The 2nd edition with recent sets hit the book stores in 2014. It now appears a 3rd edition is planned for this year if the Brickset latest "new" inventory is correct with this new ISBN value (see picture below). These DK books are a wonderful visual guide to practically every Lego Star Wars and exclusive set with concise information and photographs. As a special incentive, 1 exclusive minifigure have been included with each edition to-date (both had a Luke Skywalker "A New Hope" variation). The 3rd edition should highlight the latest Ulimate Coll…

https://brickset.com/article/42814/lego-tower-mobile-game-announced The most awesome LEGO idle simulation mobile game LEGO Tower is on its way! LEGO has joined forces with NimbleBit, creators of the classic mobile game Tiny Tower to craft a brand new mobile experience. NimbleBit has a long track record of building lovable mobile worlds for their players, and both companies are excited to be taking the Tiny Tower formula to new heights inside the world of LEGO. “Having the opportunity to build upon one of our signature games inside the world LEGO is a dream come true for us.” says David Marsh, co-founder of NimbleBit. “The building blocks of LEGO are a…

  8. I was looking at the sets listed in this article for inspiration for the next set breakdown article. I first looked at 3450 Statue of Liberty but I quickly realized that it was basically more than 50% rare pieces and more than 50% high occurrence pieces. I wasn't excited by that set. I thought I might see what readers wanted to see.

  9. This really isn't going to be a fluff article about how awesome Brick Classifieds is, but more of a small message that people are starting to take notice of it. Launching any new site is not easy at all. Google and other search engines don't even know you exist, so obtaining new customers via organic traffic is tough. Vendors that do list products don't have a lot of feedback so it's hard to show history and trust. So you might say, ok, what is so good about this? Those that have stuck it out and continued to post new quality listings with solid descriptions, real photos and priced their listings right have done well, real well. Brick Classifieds has been liv…

An image of the June 2017 LEGO Store calendar has appeared, and it looks like a new Carousel will be coming to the Fairgrounds theme. The rumor of a new Carousel started back in January, but gained a lot of traction over the last week. Set 10256, Fairground Carousel, appeared on Brickset earlier this week, which added fuel to the fire. Early this morning, part of the June 2017 calendar appeared online, and it seems that the Carousel will appearing in June. (Image from BrickGeekz Facebook page) The Zombie Apocalypse Initial concern from BrickPickers could be classified as the "Death Star Effect." Would we be getting a new set, or, as many feared,…

Lego wants to know what you'd like to see in a future GWP and how much you're willing to spend to get it. I think this past year's GWPs overall have been pretty stellar, but I do miss the minifigure Bricktober sets. Link to survey: https://www.lego.com/en-us/vip/rewards-center/get-points

  15. It's the holiday season, so pour a glass of eggnog and get your ginger snaps close at hand. Actually, are ginger snaps a holiday thing? I have no idea. Maybe I should just talk about the set. REVIEW: SET DETAILS Set #: 10245 Name: Santa's Workshop Theme: Creator (Winter Village) Parts: 883 Price: $69.99 Before we get to the build, let’s talk value. At $69.99 the price per piece works out to just under $.08 each. This is much better than the licensed sets that I am used to dealing with. There are 6 minifigures. Without a lot of experience with creator or city sets, I feel like most of the body parts are reused. In addition to all of the minifigures there …

  17. Welcome to the second entry of the Top 10 Best Selling LEGO sets as listed by LEGO S@H. I am not sure how many of you have read my postings over the last 2 months since I joined in January, so I will give you a very brief intro to my background. While I am a relatively new Brickpicker member, I am certainly not new to this game. I was in it huge from 2004-2007, Had many UCS xwings, UCS Tie Interceptors, UCS ISD, UCS Y-wings, UCS Snowspeeders, CTT, Cloud Cities etc. While I was not an emazer level operation, I was running about 3,000-4,000 in volume on an average month and reached Bronze Powerseller level, so not too bad. However, in 2007, d…
