I'm buying a NIB 10218 Pet Shop from Craig's List. How do I know the seal hasn't been tampered with? Also, does anyone know the number of bags a new Pet Shop has? I plan on opening it since I'll be building it. Thanks

According to this review there are 16 bags.

The way that you can tell if a seal has been tampered with is just by inspecting it.  Feel the seals and make sure there is no clear tape holding it together.  If I were you, I would ask the guy you are buying this from if it is okay with him if you open up the box to inspect the contents before buying.  If the seals do not look tampered with and if there is a bag missing, you can contact LEGO and they will probably send you a new one.  Just explain the situation to them.

Thanks for the help. I picked up my Pet Shop yesterday for $100! The seller seemed legit, was a modular collector, and had an extra Pet Shop. The seals looked good but I opened the box anyway. It had all the bags as expected. Now time to build!
