For anyone in UK, John Lewis has this set available online

It can also be unretired like the WVM was. I've had it with this theme and I now only have 1 of each Winter set for collection only. BTW... John Lewis could discount this set soon as I've seen them drop 50% before. I'd still not buy though.

Has anyone been able to get this at a discount recently?  Looking through pages of history here not really seeing any US discounts.  Amazing how close to RRP it is holding with the ridiculous amount of sellers.

Only during LEGO Shop at Home promos. This year should be this sets last.

Oh good! I'm glad I got this in writing!

Have they ever had 3 of their annual Christmas sets on the shelf at the same time? Once the holiday train drops I expect this set to be gone so maybe profit can be had this Christmas. I might pick some up during the double VIP and free advent promos next month. Seems appropriate.

I think they mass produced this and have a ton left over. My store has had it on the shelf all year. Any current seal codes out there? It could easily last the season with the train and toy shop available. If it does sell out maybe it gets to $100 on the qfll market.

I saw a handful at a store that does warehouse deals. I don't know if they were damaged returns that were written off by a big box store or what, but they were there.

I have 10 might up to 5 more of these and that's it, I think it will take a long time before we see these selling for  big money, same for the new Winter train. 10-20 with 2 yrs to get them.

Could be worse, at least those are not Death Stars.

This is available at SAH UK again? I know it's been available still in the US, and on and off at John Lewis UK, but I'm sure this had the retired tag here in the UK!!?

First rehashes, now sets are coming out of retirement more times then Michael Jordan!!!

What next!?

Actually, don't answer that, I don't want to know!!!

I don't remember this having a retired tag but it was removed from the shop at home website same as last years toyshop which was removed but is also back.

I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure it did. Either way, another blow.

Massively sure it did had the retirement flag!

Anyone wanna bet for a nice minty Santa's Workshop? :thumbsu:

In Europe the Winter sets always get tagged Retired and are then brought back in the fall. Been this way since 2011.

Screenshot attached of the page from January 28, 2016 for the GB site - yes, it was listed as retired then.

Yes, @asharerin is correct.  It always shows as retired in Europe.  And people in the US and people in Europe always fight over whether the item has really been retired, especially after it's first year out.
