Did anyone get a Malevolence that is not shown as backordered?

I would be happy to get one even if back ordered. I also agree that the three big sale sets will come back at least once today and tomorrow. I think they had a small amount they sold at midnight last night knowing the fanatics would buy all of them. They will release more through out the next two days.

Yes, I can tell you that the discounted sets have to do with the Star Wars theme

  • While we wait till 8PM, I'll tell you about an experience I had last night...It was the pre-dawn hours and I was half asleep.  I felt an evil, almost malicious presence in the room.  I started sweatin

    May 3-5th Only; LEGO

I was hoping to get it to just to build it. I knew that my local Lego store didn't have any, so I was going to order online, but they sold out way to fast. I think the Malevolence sold out in less than 30 minutes. I thought that it would sell out sometime later in the day. Guess I was wrong. Oh well.

Malevolence sold out in less than 5 minutes. I had one in my cart but could not check out.

Now that is fast! I guess this set is popular among collectors and kids.

How do you have a sale and only have a limited supply of a set that lasts 3 min?  Ridiculous!

Because it's a clearance sale.

People's reaction to this sale is kind of baffling, I don't really understand the angst towards LEGO. The actual "sale" items are all the things at 10-20% that are current items. Those are still going on. The three 50% sets are all long out of production and were marked down to clear them out, which they did quite well. I had a Malevolence in my cart and it was pulled before I was able to place the order, within 3 minutes. I am sure they didn't have many of these left to begin with. Same with the Skiffs which have more or less been off non-LEGO Store retail shelves for quite some time. I consider 50% off Skiffs a gift. Thank you LEGO.

LEGO isn't in this for us ;) They have businesses reasons for doing what they do. And I am sure they are thrilled. The stuff will stay on sale and they will sell ok and give out their promos. They don't have to do anything at all.

Oh well - I missed out on everything at 50% on-line - Off tothe Lego store to see if there is stuff there.  Wish me luck!!!!

Understand what you are saying but if you advertise certain sets are going to be on sale as part of an annual Star Wars sell then you should have more than what can be bought in 5 minutes. If it was that few then they should not have advertised the sets.

To play devil's advocate, were these sets actually "Advertised"? The only official AD I saw from LEGO was simply that there would be sales, and the free poster and minifigure. And "LEGO Star Wars Exclusive Offers" which is incredibly vague.

First in line at the Lego Store in Christiana that opens in an hour. I came to get a sand crawler and a Revan but not a sign of them, other then the one in the display case. It is huge next to the gunship and sail barge. Also do not see any of the 50% off sets out hopefully they have something in the back or BN is getting all of my money today. Oh and no SSD only UCS is Red Five and Ewok

I don't think that the sets were advertised, but many people got the information about the sale before it happened, so many people could be ready to buy them when they became available.

Did you see the UCS R2?

Well it is kinda lame to put sets on sale 50% off that are gone within a couple of minutes....

Looks to me like those tricky sales of shops in my country when they advertise to get people in shop and they put something 50% off and only have a couple then peopel still come and buy something else....

Gotta laugh at some of the "outrage" responses over these sales this weekend.  I haven't gone back and  cross checked the posts....but it's funny how it went from "these sales suck, how dare the TLG insult with substandard sales!" to "OMG!....I can't believe TLG insulted us by only having a limited amount of these great items on sale!!!" in about a minute and a half.  Keep em coming boys!

No R2 here or at BN and I know exactly where they keep them at both. No DS either. Just spoke to manager on his way in they have the sand crawler

I thought that the Lego store would have had the R2 for the sale.

Yes, the sale sets were named and released to the public at 8 pm last night. Look at Jeff's post at the beginning of this topic.

Exclusives do not go on sale in ****** America.

I was saying that it would be at the store for retail. I would have expected the set to be in-store at least when all the other sets go on sale.

Oh my bad. My store here is out of it too. I went in Friday and asked, they just got a big shipment but no R2. He said they don't have the shelf space for it anymore.

I ordered one last night, first one  :twitch:

Ed, was it you that said there would be "ill will" on the site today? Prophetic.

Sorry to say, but I was also prophetic telling members to buy the SSD, R2-D2 and 10188 back in the Double VIP points(with freebies) days because they weren't going to get a better deal in the future.  Maybe next time people will listen.
