April 25, 201411 yr my spidey sences are tingling. came home and noticed an item has sold, yay. then i look and buyer is in singapore, not a huge deal. but only joined ebay today, it happens. then i look at paypal and see Payment From: Ng John (The sender of this payment is Non-U.S. - Unverified) I've never seen this last part before and with the buyer just signing up today, I thought I'ld better ask the more experienced sellers. thoughts?
April 25, 201411 yr Call PayPal and ask them how to proceed so that you're protected. You need a trackable shipping method where the tracking is viewable online, and if it's over $250 you need a signature required where the signature is viewable online. I'd also insure, with a third party insurance service. You can sign up with GSP and save yourself the worry in the future.
April 25, 201411 yr I am signed up with the GSP and it's only $125 So this is a GSP package that you're shipping to Kentucky? In that case, ship it. Unless PayPal specifically sends you a note in advance saying, "Don't ship this!" you're covered.
April 25, 201411 yr I had a situation like this where someone bought a republic gunship from me, no feedback but payment cleared. I shipped via ebay's system postage and sent it to ky. They forwarded it off to russia and I moved on with my life. 4 weeks later I get a hold placed on my paypal account for the amount that I sold the gunship for. Funny eh? I call paypal in a frenzy asking them what's going on. They told me the person put in a fraud claim on the amex used to buy my gunship. I explained to them I sold it via ebay and tracking was uploaded via their requirements and they gave me my money back. They also told me the gunship was being returned to me from Russia but that was 2 months ago and nothing. I'm not expecting it back but paypal did cover me as I did what I was required to do as a seller. No tracking means s-o-l.
April 25, 201411 yr Yep, Ebay responsible after it gets to kentucky Yes they are but it doesn't mean they won't screw something up. I sold some comics to a fella in the UK as part of GSP. I mailed it to the KY address and went on with my life. A week or two later the guy opens a case against me saying I sent him a "dodgy" looking appliance instead of his comics. They mixed up my item with another going through GSP and sent my poor buyer a 30 year old milkshake maker. Took three weeks to resolve but eBay did refund the buyer and I wasn't responsible for anything AND I managed to avoid getting negative feedback. Never found out what happened to the comics. I still use GSP but I hold my breath every time now and hope for the best. Sent from my iPad using Brickpicker
April 25, 201411 yr If there is negative feedback due to their error they will remove it. Hxckidd88 sent some make up product to Russia that customs confiscated because they didn't allow one chemical in it. Customer never got the product, he got his money, and no negative feedback since it wasn't his fault.
April 25, 201411 yr As long as you have tracking and send it to the paypal address shown you'll be fine. If it is a fraudster, at most a claim will be opened and you may have the money frozen temporarily, but you'll then get it back under seller protection. The US unverified bit, is just because paypal only have addresses 'verified' in certain countries. Anywhere else, and it appears like this.
April 25, 201411 yr If the item has been paid for, you should ship it. The buyer has done their part and it's your responsibility to yours. Along with that, you need to leave positive feedback. If it's an expensive item then get insurance.
