Do you think that this set will follow Eiffel Tower and Taj Mahal and become really, really expensive in 2-3 years time? Also, do you think that Taj Mahal and Eiffel Tower will be increasing their value even more?

I have two different Tower Bridge boxes now too. They each have a different piece count on them. Kind of cool. Lego said it was an internal error.

Yep. Just bought one and the piece count is now 4295 right on the box. I don't know why but the Lego store people told me that supposedly Lego made a new one as some pieces from the one set are now discontinued. Don't know if that makes the old tower bridge any rarer...

So the original box say the piece count is 4287. Does anyone know the timeline when that changed - or did it just happen? I'm interested because errors usually lead to higher demand. Thanks!

I think it just happened. I now have three older set counts, and one newer one. When I bought the newer one the employee who sold it to me said he didn't think they would get any more with the new set count..

The only changes i can find beteween the two are in the 8 roof tops..

I was told TLC stopped making a particular element, so they had to redesign the TB; which is why there is a new piece count.

hmmm I have no idea which piece count I have on my TB's.......probably the 4287 since I've had them for awhile. I'll have to check.

I'll be happy when mine arrive and I don't stress about ensuring I have any when it goes EOL. Hopefully we will see at least one more round of heavy discounts with it.

Well true. I have seen someone pay over 1K for a Death Star Playset. Even here the retail is $700, so that was way over. Crazy EDIT: Speaking of which, there is one at $1500 on our local eBay. Ridiculous

In theory, you should still have plenty of time to pick it up later this year. That being said, the usual discount is around $219, so $ 229 is not bad if you don't have any.

Stay strong, hold out for more.  I'd only bite now if we new for certain that it was retiring in the next month.

I remember a bunch of people asking the same about the IS a while back. Most of those people missed the boat. They woke up one morning and it was gone and the price shot up. Not quite that fast but y'all get what I'm saying. If you have the money why not get it now? Is 20 or 30 bucks really worth possibly missing out. I paid retail the ones I have months ago. Some would call that stupid, so be it but at least come EOL I won't have to be wasting my time and gas scrambling around searching high and low like people were doing with the IS.
