Hoping to get some expert opinions: I've been offered an open box of this set for $150.  It supposedly has 28 bags, 3 books, 8 grey plates, and 4 blue plates.  I'll be checking when I see the set, but are the contents correct?  I've read that the set should have 5 blue plates, while I've read in other forums that there are 4 blue plates .  Can anyone advise what the correct count is?  Also, is $150 a fair price for an open box?  Thanks.

I'd take that deal. You can check you tube for an unboxing video...

28 bags, 3 books, 8 grey plates is correct. It should have 5 blue plates not 4. Almost a hundred off, I'd buy it:)

23S6 on the shelf in John Lewis (Reading), the first time I've seen one there this year and several people picked it up and looked at it. Seems like there's a lot of interest and I think this has got a long time to go yet. I know I was stupid for buying all mine in 2012 rather than now but, my patience will be greatly rewarded when the time comes.

@alpinemaps thanks for the pics, these are really helpful. It turned out that the 5th plate was stuck to one of the others. I decided to go for it, but the odd thing I noticed was that the two blue 2x4 smooth tiles were attached to one of the blue plates. I checked the bags but they all looked sealed? I'll have to inspect the bags a little closer to see if they were re-sealed...

isn't it supposed to retire soon?

As I suspected, two of the bags were cleverly trimmed and resealed with a heat sealer. Of course, not a peep from the seller. All well, I guess I'll have fun building this and just hope not too many pieces are missing.
