I have talked to S at **** customer support few days ago and the lady said that all of the sets that are on backorder (both exo and RI) will be shipped but somewhere near the beginning of September.

It shows as available, but when I add it to cart it always is empty. I guess Amazon's limits are reset a week after they ship, not a week after I order.

I was on the phone to Lego yesterday and when asking about my Exo Suit order I wasn't given the impression it was about to disappear. But I guess they have no idea.

Nah, I think we have enough of those with 10221, 10220 and 10211.

My guess is that it is limited production. And this could be it. I do not see why they should re-open a production line for this set at this price level. 

Mastermind Toys here in Canada is still showing the Exo Suit on its webpage. They don't have the Research Institute anywhere though.

Seems highly questionable that another wave is coming. I wonder if a little trip to an actual Mastermind store would be useful. You'd think they would be all over this set and certainly the Research Institute given their focus on science inspired toys.

Missing from Australia Lego Shop at Home. Could this be it? Could Lego just fulfil its backorder commitment and not bring out anothet wave? Doesn't make any sense because if Lego need to make a bit more to fulfil backorder, they might as well make a lot more and put out a 2nd wave?

I guess only time will tell. Meanwhile RI still show as 'Sold Out' on the webpage.

same here .. i don't know whether the damages on the boxes were before they were packaged.

 

i received 2 exo from amazon. box seems fine a little crushed. it does have enough air wraps but sets are crushed. kinds a bummed about them. i will hold them and wait till they become available and probably ask for replacement. another day another hassle ... no minty box

Many times the replies have the original content in them, offerings, etc.  When we delete one post, sometimes we have to delete the whole conversation.  It makes more sense in the flow of the thread, rather than having random statements that pertain to posts that are no longer in the thread.  It's nothing personal to those who replied, although it's necessary to delete them to keep the thread cleaner.  We do our best, but sometimes things are overlooked.

Based on the atmospherics, I am going to sit on the rest of my stash. Sold 24 on ebay already at the initial stages and based on either a limited run to just finish off orders or another run, it makes sense to hold for the holidays to see potential $100 prices. If we settle back at mid/low 50s - great. I only see upside on this set.
