  • Other way around for me.  Buying is pure stress.  Selling is like getting paid to play.  I love packing stuff.  Seriously.  If people didn't pay me to mail stuff to them, I'd probably just send packag

Okay, now that the whole scene is complete by the box, I have to say the set is pretty f***in' awesome! Bearded lady, huh? ....Well you asked for it.

I just cannot bring myself to get excited about this as compared to others.

Rather than 2 of these with 2 Christmas Sets, 2 Hot Dog Carts, 10% VIP, I'd rather pour money for example into 1 TB with 10% VIP and Christmas set.

I may be alone in this.  Anyone?

I would put my money on TB than the Mixer as it just came out.

According to Brickset, this has become OOS in UK since Oct 11!? Can someone verify this? Does this means super short life for the fairground mixer?

It means nothing. Out of stock means nothing. The set was just released. It is not going away. I love it though and am hoping for a carnival theme, all packed up on trucks.

This is double VIP points month, it's the only time where there is any kind of discount on exclusives so it's expected that some are going to go out of stock.

I've not ordered one ;-)

I am completely clueless when it comes to Power Functions.  Does anyone know exactly what Power Functions I'd need to get to power this guy up?

This kit has everything you need.  I bought it since everything else was backordered when I was looking.

If you just want the necessary components.

Pick a battery box.

And this motor.

So I could do just the 8881 and the 8883, and be set, it looks like.

Doesn't matter on the backorder status to me.  I'm finally getting a Fairground Mixer for myself.

You need one cable to connect the box and the motor.

And then yes, you'd have everything. Make sure you get the M motor as suggested above, the L motor will be too much for it. :)

The motor has a pigtail, it appears to be about 8", that will work, but it will limit the distance you can put battery from the set, if that is a concern.

Wow, I never noticed that. Haha, oops. :)

Unless I'm going for the Extreme Mixer!

Might need more than 1 of the throwing up guys!

I spy an orange foot.

Belongs to a friends daughter doing a science project on solar power. Bought the solar kit to use and we are going to build different solar powered vehicles (big/small wheels, tracked) to see the impact on the amount of power produced.

Who says lego isn't educational? :)

I was in a Lego store last night and an employee told me after 2 days on the shelf they hadn't sold a single mixer set. Take that with a huge grain of salt of course. I personally like the set but it is a little underwhelming after seeing it on display in the store. Of course the whole idea of it all fitting on the trucks is lost when someone sees the display. Which in my opinion is one of the best aspects of the set.

Sorry for quoting an old post but I just recently picked up a couple of these as I am a believer. I love the creativity of how everything folds up and loads up, but I do agree that aspect is lost when it's on display at the Lego store.

With the rumored Ferris Wheel coming out, that should help with the resale value of this set since it's the first in a (hopefully) long line of sets in this theme. I'm kicking myself now for selling my 10196 Carousel over a year ago.

Of course, this is just my opinion, and I'm small time compared to a lot of you here.  :cheese:

I agree, the way it is designed is brilliant and also includes the luminescent bricks. I think it also suffers from its name. Fairground

Suffers from the name Mixer too (sorry).

just like Star Wars Rebels Sets I thought the Ghost was a terrible set and now I love it.

I'll be joining the Fairground Mixer bandwagon soon enough I think.
