This thread should be combined with the Have a Laugh one. The best selling set of their hottest theme right now and you guys seriously think it's going away?

  • That set disappears from stores as soon as they put it out. I am slowly putting them aside for xmas.

  • They aren't around long because they are cheap. The parents of the children who want Lego Movie sets want to buy some of the cheaper sets instead of the more expensive ones.

Thanks OP but, it's a shame that quantity is limited and postage to the UK making it not really worthwhile  I'd have happily bought 100 and flipped the lot.  Brickset's Amazon price list is one of my home pages that I check several times a day.

Yes, about one hour ago my wife could select as much as 9. But when she wanted to pay they put it back to 3. Shame!

Any other movie sets on sale on amazon.it?

Thanks for the tip Mahler! You saw it faster than I did. I was out for lunch when this opportunity came up.

This is how I could add to cart 100 Cloud Cuckoo Palaces on amazon.it:

- Add 1 (or 3) to cart

- View cart

- Change the quantity, select "More than 10"

- After that you can type in the quantity

But I haven't tried to check out, so I'm not sure if it allows you to make the purchase.

My wife had 9 in the cart. But at checkout they changed it to max 3. If we were earlier we could have ordered more probably. But they put a maximum when they saw someone from the US ordering 100 Cuckoo's.

Hahaha not me, signore Ciglione. I bought 500, not 100 (j/k)

Seriously, I did buy one from Walmart today.

And this is exactly why I made sure to pick up all the smalls first and anything else I could before the movie premiered. Now still being so early in the year coupled with the insanely huge popularity for all things related to the film, I would think (hope) any of these sets return back to store shelves; just perhaps not long enough to touch a slight sale. Even Castle Cavalry may sell out one of these shopping trips.

Zombies wasn't popular until it was gone.

Zombies was gone because it was popular, or were you referring to its secondary market worth that made investors take notice? I would've thought just the name alone getting people's attention.

I have four of these cuckoo's now. Will it be a good investment or flipping material?

Who knows, all depends on legos production. You can make around $10 flipping or parting now.

I saw a couple at a random target today, so they are still out there. It's sold out most places though.

I stopped by several Targets, Wal marts, kmarts, meijers and TRU this week in my area and I am surprised how many planograms are missing the labels for the sets. At Target, this usually means they are done (at least until the aisle resets). I pick them up whenever I see them. I've got boys and girls and they both love the set.

I have a funny feeling these cheaper movie sets will not be around for long. I dunno why.

Because nobody wants them. Pick-a-brick would be a better investment than these.

Once I set up checking account and a PayPal I'll have to start looking for internet deals on this.  I'm trying to avoid the current deals so that I won't kick myself for not buying...

  • 3 weeks later...

My Target had the barest LEGO section for the longest time, and then they finally started retagging the shelves and they put CCP tag back on. Today I went in and they had finally restocked - but no CCP. Not even the tag. Maybe it's gone in my city.

These aren't gone at all. Targets restocking all the time. Returned 6 of them tonight. Ended up buying 3 for $15.99 in the same store because they were an instant substitue for something else that was out of stock.

I think this hinges on whether Unikitty is released in the next wave of Lego Movie sets, and if so, the price of that set....is this known information?

That set can be found all over in my area of the country. I've never even took a second look at it. Might be a good Christmas seller, though.
