March 2, 201411 yr Finally found a decent deal on the Cargo Train from Amazon! Seems like they are blowing them out? So hard to find them in any stores around here other than the Lego store...
March 2, 201411 yr Finally found a decent deal on the Cargo Train from Amazon! Seems like they are blowing them out? So hard to find them in any stores around here other than the Lego store... ya, same here, quickly bought 2x 7939 from amazon at USD119.xx. not a bad deal...
April 8, 201411 yr How do you see this set investment wise? I have not seen it this low online before. Would you get it right now?
April 8, 201411 yr it might be you last chance, 21 left on Amazon USA, and target and walmart are OOS Trains _usually_ do good, but keep in mind that it is being re-released this summer as 60052
April 8, 201411 yr I'm not sure about this one. It's ok for construction but for the price and investment it lacks some... charisma. I would take some if the price is really good (like -40% RRP), but not too much. 60052 looks better IMHO (I would invest on this one when EOL)
April 8, 201411 yr I bought one yesterday, but more for the nagging feeling that we will build it vs keep for pure investment.
April 8, 201411 yr Or sure why people don't like this one? Has an industrial feel as well as heavy duty look to it. Is say, like we all have been, that $120 and below is a winning price to buy! Sent from my iPhone using Brickpicker
April 8, 201411 yr I don't think we are going to see 120 and below prices on this, unless lego SAH does a hearse on this
April 8, 201411 yr I got a couple of these (the 4 in 1 package including the train station and some additional tracks) for 63% off. That was a pretty good deal but they're taking up A LOT of space.

April 8, 201411 yr Where did you get those Bearcrash? Bart Smit. Online promotion last November in combination with an error on their website that caused the promotion to be taken into account twice.
April 8, 201411 yr Ahh... you were one of the lucky ones back then. Well done! You will make some nice money whenever you will sell it. Sooner or later.
April 8, 201411 yr Did anyone invest in the red cargo train? I think I saw it only once in real life. I figure this one would be a killer for investment. wouldn't it be?
April 8, 201411 yr I have one left. I sold one a while ago to make room for other sets. It didn't go very high though (slightly under MSRP) but I still made a little money. I'm gonna wait a couple of years before I sell the other one. Unless I open it. It's very tempting to build a huge cargo train terminal :-)
April 8, 201411 yr I think you should keep it. After EOL it will go very high I think. This will be a sleeper. If I find one I will buy it for sure. even at retail.
April 8, 201411 yr Amazon UK has a crap ton of these at the moment for 100 pounds. I'm stocking up a dozen or maybe more. The engine and octan car will easily pay for the set once it retires.

That's what I was thinking, the Octan tanker and the LEGO container will help support this set. The train is pretty sweet too. There's several features to this set.
April 8, 201411 yr Just bought two yesterday for 134 us. Not my best price but it ups my inventory to 7. I was lucky enough to get the others at $125 or less. Amazon UK made a mistake and one of my orders was over 30 days old without delivery. I asked about it, and eventually they sent another shipment out. Soon after both shipments arrived for the price of one. Thanks DHL. So my cost per set is unusually low.
April 8, 201411 yr 22 left on Amazon.com! Let's pray that it will finally be OOS this time? I wish I had a Red Cargo Train. I'm willing to trade for one...
April 8, 201411 yr imo after its eol it'll jump to 30-50% above msrp in a few months, hold there for awhile then slowly creep up to about 350 where it plateaus. If when the next cargo train retires they don't remake the set right away it'll increase in value some more.
