I figured with 65 days to go, now is a good time to start a thread for the real Football fans on BP (j/k).

Anything related to WC preparations, squads, players, coaches,, and ultimately games can be discussed here . Things will probably heat up as we closer to June but why not start a bit early .

Please make sure any discussion is civil, respectful, and no trolling.

 

So, who do think will win? which team are you cheering? who will be the dark horse? will the USA make it out of the first round?

Yeah I was referring to why I was waiting to make my pics for the tournament. Because there is literally always a good team that loses a huge player right before it starts.

Soccer is for the kids that weren't good enough to make the Football or Baseball teams.  On a side note: Any stadiums burn down yet?

One thing, had Brazil not won yesterday, most of sauromosis' contest entries would've been busted, as Brazil would have had to - theoretically - play Spain in the round of 16.

Brazil got a free pass to the round of 8, where I think they'll be eliminated.

I think they will get a free pass to at least the semis, if not, the final. Remember South Korea in 2002? The host nation always has bias referees helping them
