I like to file the end of my brick separators to a sharp point, kind of like a prison shank. I then sell them and use them as homemade weapons. SHHHH don't tell lego that I am turning brick separators into weapons or they might stop including them in sets.

I use one to separate plates so they don't have fingernail marks, but that's about it.

  • Absolutely!! I've got around a million of these stupid things, and they work great IMO. Finger savers!! I am now giving them out to my customers who order larger used sets just to get rid of some of t

I certainly do, the person who designed this thing is a genius.

Getting too much of them though. I have more than 10 from sets that I built, that's just a waste of plastic.

I use mine all the time, they're great. So useful. Wish I had one as a kid, I could have avoided many a bleeding gum and cut finger.

Not to mention it keeps the Lego in nice condition. I noticed lots of my old Lego had dings and little chew marks.

I've been using the same one for over twenty years. Extremely useful, I can't recommend them enough.

Should check out the minifig crowbar as well. Recently acquired one and it's quite handy.

Yes. Best thing ever.

Edit: I add one to every BrickLink order if the sellers have them.

Just picked up a couple of these "Brick Poppers" since my daughter has hard time using the Lego separator. Really good purchase so far, much easier for her to use since it is easier to hold. On the downside, it is made of a metal (aluminum?), so it can damage the bricks (and fingers!) more easily if you are not careful..

That looks like a tool used for fixing drywall.

I wouldn't use anything that is harder than the lego itself. I'd rather the separator get damaged than the lego.

Yeah, I understand what you are saying but I don't worry too much about damaging a .03 cent brick. For us it was all bout enabling my daughter to take them apart. Especially tiles and plates on a baseplate.

Fair enough.
