So back to the old news of new sets, the 2014 Star Destroyer! Something that hasn't been seen in minifigure scale for 8 years. But when I compare the two, I would almost choose the older 2006 over 2014. Almost, but not quite. I think the realistic look and figures are good. However, there's the obvious nagging thing about it being smaller than 2006's. But that didn't really matter since half of the ship was really an escape pod launcher. But is the new half any different? It seems pretty basic for what you pay. Is that set worth $130?  And there's no more helmet changing station either! I had hoped for an improved one, but since the station was on the Super Star I guess they went for accuracy maybe?

My biggest reason for asking is my hope to sell my used 2006 Star Destroyer for more than $160 (I am more a collector than investor, and I still play with the sets, believe it or not, but I sell them when I want new ones). Will this set negatively affect the price of 2006's model? Does size matter? Either way, I think I am going to buy 2014's new one, probably after selling my own one. But should the time to sell it be now or later? Thoughts?

On the positive side this means more opportunities to stock up.

Better stock up. There will be a much longer period of time before the next ISD remake, if ever. The new movie star destroyer has 2 layers and small scrafts can flying in between the layers.

I know it's not much, but you might want to add a "Spoiler Alert" heading a few spaces above your post.  There are some here that don't want to know anything about the movie until they've seen it.

the two I was able to order from TRU.com a couple days ago are showing as "Backordered"  not sure they will get any more but guess ill just have to wait and see....

I know, just reminding the OP that it already is sold out (his/her question...once it is sold out is already a few weeks late).

As stock dries up and SW fever heats up, I'd say $250-300 CAD is probable. Some auctions/buy it nows on the bay are already showing this. Maybe $350 CAD if a replacement comes along that is too similar, but if it is a TFA ISD, 75055 should do just fine.

Now its sold out at amazon.de too! Just tried to order another 2 sets [emoji16]. Seems to be that this were just the last few items or backorders that amazon had in stock. Awesome that I got my 2 sets before. For this price the set will never come back!
