Other than big box stores..Walmart..toys r us..target..Kmart......what other stores sell Legos or minifigures?

And how weird is it that I just bought 33 packets of series 9 minifigures from target the other day? They were stocked in a lego movie sidekick display but I noticed the different color packaging so I picked them all up

The minifigure market is almost all online.  I have a local stare that sells minifigs for twice their value, just ripping off parents who don't know any better.  You gotta get on Bricklink (which I hope you know about) or ebay.

There are usually 3 series a year.  Series 9 came out last winter after Christmas

I have seen minifigures sold in Walgreen's stores. They stock some smaller sets sometimes too.

I have seen some minifigures being sold at Barnes and Nobles, but the prices were horrible. $4.95 for one minifigures! The retail for it is $2.99.

Ouch. I'll stay away from there then lol. But I'm gonna check walgreens out

My Stop & Shop had Lego Movie figures on sale 2 for 5 when the movie came out. I was pretty surprised.

The Simpsons series should be out around June and Series 12 will be in October. Normally the dates should be May and September respectively but thanks to The Lego Movie, the release dates for much of this year's offerings have been pushed further than usual.
