I will sell a lot of lego items starting tomorrow evening CET. So my wife saw some pictures for my item descriptions

and told me: ,,hey that looks like modern art, you should print some of them and we can hang it on our walls"

I laughed and then i looked again on my pics. I thought that it really would be funny to have some of them hanging

on our walls. (of course without the weight specification on the pictures... removing them with photoshop would be easy)

The pictures were made with a Canon eos 20d. Background is a white table. I used photoshop to pimp the pictures. (more contrast and brightness)

What do you guys think?

Lego pictures as modern art?

I think a cropped zoom on any of the big piles of bricks would look good. No white edges, just a random pile of bricks, all one colour.

Colour to suit the surrounding decor

what the ... ???

1200$ for this crap?

So when this guy sells it for 1200 bucks, i can sell my pictures for min. 2000! :money:

Holy moly!

Of course i know it doesn't mean this guy sold any of them. :)

Malevich guy seems to go in the same direction... really funny!

:-) you may want to check the prices of his work at Sotbey's... mind boggling...  But you obviously have to be dead to get these kinda prices...

Pictures of Lego would make great works of art provided what is in frame has an interesting design. I don't see random piles of bricks as art really as I am surrounded by drawers of colors everyday but that is just me.

Well, the fact it is listed at that price does not mean he sold any ... But you did hear about Malevich guy, right?   :)

This is art. :ok:

This is the Lego "art" I have on my wall.

I think some generic brick piles would look quite cool if they tied in well with the other decor.

you need to go Jackson Pollock with them bricks and start throwing them around mixing em up and then take some pictures - that would be pretty sweet :)

the ones that take pictures or build

-I don't always going shopping, but when I do I buy Lego-

The builders.  Even I could take the pictures.

Well, Malevich wasn't too off. I think he would have enjoyed Lego. Here is one of his other paintings:

That looks like a Banksy. Where did you get that one?

Well the one with the red "plates" reminds me of one of my ebay listings: :)

It's a t-shirt I got off Ebay.  Didn't fit properly so wife cut it up and stretched it over a canvass.

Looks like this was the original source:

I like the style, wouldn't mind seeing others like that.

And it looks like it and some others like it are still available from the artist via another outlet:

Yep.  The one I got first off Ebay and is now on the wall was a bit poor quality and didn't fit right.  I also have a new one from Redbubble which is great.
