As a pair. Both sealed, for $100 total. Couldn't pass it up, but I also found it strange they were paired together in the ad. Obviously the guy knows Legos, but it worries me they have been tampered with. The price was seemingly a little too good.

The weight was about 10 grams less with the Helms Deep compared to the two others I have, and Uruk is about 5 grams. Is that enough to worry about tampering?

My teenager met him, and the guy also brought along a (described to me) "huge" tub of Legos that he wanted to sell for $300. My son said there were definitely a lot of Star Wars stuff in there, and he had the manuals, too. So, maybe he's just getting out of the hobby.

This guy also had a Goblin King he would sell for $50, but I wasn't interested .

Nice deal!  Even open box with sealed bags, they're worth more than $100.

Yeah, if you're that worried take a peek inside.  If the bags are still sealed I can't see it hurting the value tremendously.

That's a good idea. I may also contact him about the loose tub. Sounds like maybe an 18 gallon tub. Need to figure out an approximate weight to see if it's worth it.
