10235 - Winter Village Market

Sounds like the next Winter Village set is going to be a Market. No other information as yet, but the source is never wrong.

This Winter Village (really 5-6 polybags thrown together) is going to quietly walk pass people since the Santa set now has the attention. Then when the Winter Village is knocking on EOL's door, panic mode will finally set-in.

My magic 8 ball says...

As an investor, just buy a few if you would like at least 50% ROI during it's first year alone. People will want this set at the very least to expand / complete their Winter theme collection.

I also don't remember other retailers ever selling these before.  Have Winter Village sets sold at Target/Walmart/Amazon before?  I was thinking they were exclusives to Lego stores and online.  I could very well be wrong, though.

I haven't been paying attention to the last few releases but the Toy Shop was definitely available from Amazon.

WVC def was on Amazon

Every time I set out to acquire this set, I end up buying the VW Camper.

Thanks. :)

That's not a surprise. I only wonder when it will be retired (mid-december ? or sooner ?).

So there you go, from 'Retired' to 'Available Now'

Yep... from now on, "retired" status has zero meaning.  Bring on SSD in US!

It's definitively odd but I'm not sure this rationale applies to other lines, only time will tell...

My suspicion is that they reallocated some inventory from the US to Europe. It was selling better over there.

Well, i could give a benefit of a doubt. I guess they meant TOOS, but accidentally retired it.  But we are watching you, TLC!

Some sets were already "retired" and then "available".

The exosuit, of course, but it's not the only one. Everytime I enter my stockage room, I feel that my TMNT Baxter robot sets are laughing at me.

exosuit was "retired"?? or you mean "sold out" ?  we are talking about actual "retired"

No way. WV sets sell WAY much better in the the US.

I'm sure there was demand over there, so they probably kept some of a production run in Europe. I would tend to say Lego isn't really in the business of relocating sets a great distance.

Indeed, we are! =P

Just an FYI, all the Markets I have bought this fall have had '13 codes on them.  I'm not sure they made another run for this holiday season and are just moving out what didn't sell last year.  Maybe somebody can prove me wrong with new codes, but I have not seen any yet and have received them from LEGO Shop at Home and Amazon.  I that's the case, could sell out soon and be much lower stocked than the others.

AFAIK, this has been the only WV set to not go out of stock after the holiday season in the US and it's very possible they didn't make a bunch more after seeing poor sales in its initial run.

I'm just theorizing right now, if there are '14 codes that you have seen, I have wasted time typing.

I agree, it looks like it was selling poorly and I believe it was glucapg who stated TLG had a warehouse full of these and it would make a comeback.

Maybe it'll keep popping up all over the place, even after retirement, much as the 10216 Winter Village Bakery did.
