Hey All,

Back into collecting after a while on the sideline. Love minifigs as do most and a bunch if other stuff, I'm all over the map. Had a bunch of stuff I sold off as a kid and now wish I didn't, probably like most everyone. Anyway, now that I'm older I gave a bit more cash flow and the ability to buy multiples for investment purposes. Some I'm sure I'll keep for my personal collection but will be looking for great deals to flip or sit on with other stuff. Anyway, here's what went down at Target today. Felt like I was getting good deals but I honestly don't know. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also, was able to score almost a full case of S11 mini figures (50 or so). Should I open these and sell piece by piece, sell as blind bags, keep for a while unopened? Would like to possibly trade some.

Like I said, I'm new to all this so any info I can get would be a huge help

Target told me they don't match their own online price in store if it's not available online anymore. I guess I complained enough that they did it for me this one time.

They also matched their Bogo 40% off but the stipulation was they couldn't price match and then 40% off the item, it was one or the other. Bottom line is I got these for the following prices. Seemed good to me

Superman Battle of Smallville #76003 - $25.99 each. They matched their online price on both since it was ringing up 49.99 and it was cheaper to just price match.

Iron Man Sea Port Battle #76006 - Rang up 19.99, same as online so got one at that price and the other for around $12

Batman vs Freeze #76000 - rang up 19.99, they matched the first at 15.99, got the second for 40% off 19.99, so around 12 again

I like all the sets but to get them at what I thought were great deals I was very happy

Good Deals or No??

Thanks, looking forward to the forum

Alan

I would hang on to the box of Series 11 for a while.  They still have some room to grow.

All the Superhero sets that you got were great choices.  I think that the best one was the Batman Vs. Mr. Freeze.  Every minifigure in that set is exclusive and should bring a great price after retirement.  Iron Man sets should be disappearing from shelves sometime soon, and you got a pretty good price for those.  I do not know how well the Battle of Smallville will appreciate, but at nearly 50% off, you got a deal.

By the way, welcome to BrickPicker! :thumbsu:

Thanks for the quick response. I was so shocked at the 50% off! I didn't notice one of the boxes were damaged (smashed corner) I guess my options are keep as is, return without receipt for store credit since it's $49.99 on the shelf or open it and sell off mini-figs and set. I know there are 5 minis I believe. Anyone know off the top of their head if they are exclusive or not?

Actually, I would keep the set sealed if I was you.  Box condition will hardly affect the long term growth.  Even if you had bought the set with no box, you would still make money.  A damaged box should not keep someone from investing in a set.

Superman is the only minifigure in the set that is not exclusive.  Zod appears in other sets, but not in his special armor.  I would just keep the set sealed and sell it down the road.

I'm so new to this. Is there a place on here I can go to and see what sets minis are in? I'm sure there is a few but what's the best in your opinion. I guess I could try another Target to get one that isn't smashed. Is there something out there in the $50 range you would suggest over it since I'm guessing I'd get full price on a return w/o receipt for store credit. I'll definitely keep the other unopened Superman and see where it goes. You've helped me immensely already and I really appreciate it

My personal opinion is that the 76001 Bat vs. Bane will do better than the Battle of Smallville.  76005 Daily Bugle is also a great option.  I think that the Daily Bugle will do the best out of the three, but that is getting harder to find.  As Gondorian has said, Brickset is probably the best place to find set info.

Superman is the only minifigure in the set that is not exclusive.  Zod appears in other sets, but not in his special armor.  I would just keep the set sealed and sell it down the road.

Actually, Zod appears in his armor in the Black Zero Escape set.  :turned:

Greetings. Being a newbie as well, what would be the best way to sell incomplete kits and where would I list them? E-bay or this site?

Thanks,

Mitch
