Gravity sure is sweeping the field.   :notfair:

Personally didn't think it deserved anywhere near 7 Oscars and it certainly isn't Cauron's best work. Pretty average, cliche-ridden film in my opinion. It reminds me of Gladiator a bit actually.

Not a single award for American Hustle is a little suprising. Happy for Steve McQueen's crew to take out Best Picture, he was really struggling through his acceptance speech and personally think he was dudded out of Best Director. Best actor was a tough field and couldn't fault McConaughey though everyone would have been a worth winner really. Cate Blanchett was no suprise and neither was Lupita's win.

Note: I haven't actually seen it...

Space shuttle gets destroyed during space walk, astronaut gets stranded in space.  Some actual NASA astronauts commented on the movie last year -- assuming said astronaut actually survived the collision (debatable), apparently they would likely have died before managing to get into the orbit of the space station and even if they did manage to get there -- they would get splattered like a bug on a windshield because the orbits although not quite perpendicular, are very very different.  And even if they somehow managed to be in a slightly different universe where the orbits were aligned and at similar speeds her FREAKING HAIR would float in space -- which I'm told it basically never does...
