Kinda sorta what I expected--the box size "difference" is a optical illusion created by the camera angle (the owner of the photo states they are the same size). The other differences are attributable to language. Not sure how meaningful this is.

I don't get how this optical illusion works....no matter which angle the picture is taken at, there should be one side longer and one side shorter...and if he's taking it from the top, the size should look the same.

Here's the same effect with two identical PS boxes--one with 15R5 seal codes and one from R4. Boxes are exactly the same size in real life.

I figured nothing changed, it was just a miscalculation when they measured the built set, and they are correcting it on the box.

Wow, are we hardcore fans or what...this box size 'comparison' pic might go viral like that silly blue vs gold dress thingy on youtube lol.  Soon all the talk shows will be discussing this

asharein, were you talking about this earlier today or something completely different ?

Can anyone who buys one from Europe/Asia report on the box size and art and if anyone actually opens one any difference in pieces and colors? The new ones coming out of the USA have a slightly different size box and small mods to the box printing. Back to limit 5 in Europe is interesting also. This one may be around for a while yet.

Pitfall69 over at Brickset shared this picture:

Well, R2 went from TooS to available now several times in the US before finally dying.  SSD did it at least once, and came back from several weeks of TooS to be available now (limit 5) for about two days, then went to sold out (I think).  So sure, maybe Vader made room on the DS for a PS, but that's not how I'm reading these status changes.

I just looked at my 2015 PS and it says 11" tall on the measurement. However, the line on the box diagram which denotes the measured height is actually taller than the building itself and the building itself seems to be taller than 11 inches when measured to the top of the chimney on the townhouse. In other words, the box graphic was wrong before and is still wrong, albeit less wrong. In any case, it's weird that they bothered to make the change -- especially when it was underestimating the height rather than overestimating it.

I'm willing to wager those two boxes belong to diff. regions.

One where they know how to use an imperial ruler and one where the metric system has abolished all knowledge of inches.

If hardcore fan is on the road to BTP, I'm in.

So what's the consensus, could this be the last roll of the dice for this set at SAH EU / Asia?

Why would they make a very small change to the box art if they were just going to make a final run or two?

Maybe they received complaints about overstating the height?

Maybe they received complaints about overstating the height?

My point is that this will hopefully end the talk of retirement for this set.  If they were done with the set, they wouldn't take the time and effort to change that small detail on the box for a final run, just to avoid having 3 people complain about the height shown on the box.

The Pet Shop is back alive. (my previous assumption down the trash)

It seems Exclusives get a (much?) longer life time on LEGO Shop at Home than at the B&M shops. Interesting evolution.

She's still flip-flopping. Back to OOS, May 14th this time. And looks like PC has bumped from May 8 to 9 for whatever reason. Still very new at all this stuff, but I'm weary this might be some sort of move by TLG to flush out reseller accounts...? Despite being Available for a brief window earlier, my BO'd copy is still on BO.

Flipflopping the in stock status of a modular is not how Lego flushes out reseller accounts.  Everyone knows they get 'drunk' on barrels of 'cookies', then launch speedorz at a dartboard covered in VIP account IDs.

Today received: Fresh factory case 10218. Made a picture of the information, produced in April 2015.
