How are you guys predicting production base on seal codes? Does lego have to produce the set for the entire year once it enters week 1 of a new calendar year? I am sure they can pull the trigger at any week of the year if they want.

Theoretically: They could have stopped production already last fall. Just they scrambled the last parts and pieces and packed it all in January.

The last 2 pages of the thread mention sets purchased with codes from week 51/14 3/15 and now 5/15 and I guess they pack more than 1 box per day or it might be because I am dating a girl whose friend works on the  production line - choose whichever seems more coherent

It'll go by late Fall.  Unless PC hits limit 2 before then, in which case PC is the one to go (like TH).

I wouldn't be too surprised. If rumors of a new modular float around by the fall it seems likely that one existing modular would go OOS in the 4th quarter. Now, if the rumors are for a new corner building then chaos ensues, as investors probably would lean towards it replacing the PC. We'll see. DO rumors started to gain momentum before it was announced, so we should hear some snippets in half a year or so.

The Pet Shop is currently "Out of Stock" on the online Lego store in Ireland and states an expected next shipping of March 17th. Does anybody think this suggests EOL? Perhaps there still plenty available elsewhere? Also, what makes people so sure to expect the set to last until September or later in the year? I have yet to find some evidence in relation to this growing expectation.

That could possibly happen. All you need is a rumor from a "reliable" source and it could sell out in March.

The reason people (like me) think it will last is because we just had 2 modulars retire, and would expect the next modular building retirement to wait until the end of this year.

In Europe... Lego clearly has taken back control on the distribution. First the physical and online stores are out and then Lego will be the last resort to get this set. They will put it on a ration card and if you are lucky you will get one last one from SaH. I believe this is the way to go from now on. F5-days are behind us. At least for exclusives.

Kinda weird, German LEGO Shop at Home always ships from Cologne. Did it possibly pass through Hamburg? Maybe their B&Ms help fulfilling online orders, but haven't heard about that yet.
