This is really fascinating.  Glad I'm up to 20 PS already.  But zero PC and, um, PR.  Maybe lego has just decided to hand over all modular sales to resellers going forward?

A PS I ordered on March 18 from LEGO Shop at Home just went to "In Process" and my CC was charged. Might be making a comeback--or they're just filling backorders.

​You are welcome.  Like you, the orders I placed on 3/30 are still in "backordered" status.  It is normal.  If I place another order now, I believe that I will receive today's order before my 3/30 order.  I am not sure why Lego doesn't practice FIFO consistently.

Yes that is normal for shop at home.

LEGO shop at home uses a last in first out order fulfillment.

People with orders placed from when it is out of stock get their orders fulfilled last.

People who place there PS orders right now while its in stock will get it shipped out like normal and receive theirs before those with orders on backorder.

Never cancel an order - what is the worse you can do have four.  Get the order and if push comes to shove do a return. 

Yes to your second question.  Regarding the first, you have to ask yourself if it's worth drawing attention to your LEGO Shop at Home account by cancelling previous orders.

I think you will still get your original order - it will just take a while.

I had a red5 order from early December when it was out of stock that only got filled 3 weeks ago.  

Meantime I had ordered 4 more when they were in stock and got them all  quickly.

I would avoid contacting shop at home customer service to avoid anyone looking at my purchase history.

​Just ask a friend or relative with a different address to place a new order for you. Best case scenario you get 4 and if you don't really want them can make a return. You are new here so I am assuming your LEGO account is also fairly new, canceling or ordering more than 4 on a new account will just raise flags in your account specially for new accounts.

If you have been a long time LEGO Shop at Home buyer with regular purchases through the year but never close to the limits then you are likely in the clear placing a second order, you can always explain to customer service that you ordered twice because were afraid your first order was canceled, again only do this if your account does not look like an obvious reseller account and definitely do not cancel first order. 

I don't think my account would raise any flags, nothing more than one or two extras here and there.  I went ahead and placed another order just in case my first order doesn't get filled.

​If I were in your situation and I want only 2 Pet Shop and I don't want to wait, then I would call Lego SAH and tell them that I have an order of 2 in backordered status and then ask them if they could cancel that order and place an order of 2 for you.  That way, both actions are taken by one Lego representative.  If there are potential issues, he/she should be able to inform you.  Also, remember to take down the name of the Lego representative doing this for you.  

As for me, I will just wait for my original orders, since they were placed during the double VIP point promotional period.

PS, T1 Camper and Tower Bridge all changed to limit 2 at this time last year and then changed back to limit 5 in the fall. I am glad TLG does not make this too easy

​I wasn't following limits then, but if this was the case then I think the limit changes have more to do with stock levels and many modulars being perpetually OOS.  Perhaps the limit change has importance for Pet Shop, but I think many expected some limit change on that set in the near term.

Regarding PC and, especially, PR, the limit changes probably have to do with keeping stock.  PS, PC, and PR have been generally OOS/backordered since the holidays, but people seem to keep buying them quickly.

It's interesting nonetheless.  Limit changes on Simpsons House and TOOS on that set within the past few months, and the limit changes on these modulars.  

Maybe they want to avoid the situation when people buy 5 of each during 2xVIP instead of spreading their purchases and similar situations, robbing clean the inventory and denying other casual buyers to live with the offerings. Since normal people mostly buy 1, this is practically only hurting investors. Allowing multiple quantities may cause spikes in demand, making it very cyclical based on promos and double VIPs. Companies like more consistent business practices. If these people are forced to buy only 1 at a time then demand is more calculable and less spiky and also more people can buy at a time. If done right of course, but what I see is that they still can't keep up with demand, therefore this is only a temporary solution to help a little, which might work to an extent in my opinion.

To my recollection, while PS and T1 were widely unavailable online last fall, they remained limit 5 at LEGO Shop at Home.  I think this is last call for PS.  But for PR?  That's the interesting question.

I don't know how to find anything on this site anymore!! Search doesn't work, I can't find which topics are where so although it's not about the pet shop, the palace cinema has been discussed a lot in here lately.  I'm just gonna put this info in here and it can be moved.  

 

My order status (thread) on the Palace Cinema from April 6th has changed to "In Warehouse".  Thought that was important news.
