The new lego catalog came in the mail today.

1) The first words out of my seven year olds mouth were "there's new Chima sets"

2) I just glanced through it quickly and unless I missed it Curiosity Rover is NOT in it.

I finally took a look at the Spring catalog, and while I know it's not the end-all, since the catalog can't possibly include all the exclusive sets that are (will be) available, it's interesting to note that of the major exclusives, Tower of Orthanc, Haunted House, and Tower Bridge are not in there, while the Death Star and SSD are.  And of course, as others have mentioned many times, GE is in the catalog as is the VW Camper.  

 

The complete absence of LOTR/Hobbit theme in the catalog is quite interesting though, especially since, if memory serves correctly, the 1st wave of LOTR went from 5/2012 to 12/2013.  So, it stands that the second wave may also only last 1.5 years.  Therefore, I'm going to start buying Tower of Orthancs every month.  I was able to buy 10 during the Target sale, but I'd like to have 20 of these.  I need to continue buying HHs as well, since there's no telling what will happen with that one.  Same goes with TB.

Great analysis Pins. If this is true then Orthanc would be an even bigger winner.
