Hello I was just hoping to get some input on which is the better deal.  I recently purchased 2 79008 on sale for $70 each at Walmart but was curious whether I should return them, and pick up a Grand Emporium they have on the shelf with a slightly damaged box.  The prices are about the same but I think the grand emporium is retiring sooner.  Any thoughts?

I agree. Why not just order a GE and get a good box. I imagine your paying $150.00 either way.Keep your eyes out you might find a better price on The Pirate Ship. I got one today at Kmart, out the door for $60

Get GE but, in a mint box as it'll be worth more. Since I already have 9x GE, I just bought 10 pirates ships as they were 1/3 off and I think will EOL soon.

GE >>> Pirate ship, but I'd highly recommend spending the few bucks extra to get a nice box.  GE already carries a slight premium over the other modulars, and it's a corner piece.  Probably FB-like gains to be made immediately after EOL when panic buying sets in, with slower rises 1yr after.  Just my opinion, YMMV.

I suppose i should just hold out for nicer box. Besides, I do like these pirate ships.

Grand emporium all the way, but wait until march 1st and order it from shop at home to get the Martian poly too. I wouldn't trust a beat up box collecting dust at your local Wally World. Who knows what terrible things have been done to it?
