I've bought about 150+lbs of bulk LEGO over the last couple of years. Some lots more organized than others. So I have grabbed a few buckets and started to sort to sell or keep. I'm finishing up a Toy Story 3 7597 Western Train Chase to get rid of. Missing most of the figures. It'll be 98% complete with a few pieces missing or substituted.

Next up I have this. Most  likely a keeper.
 
Batman 7888. Missing book 1. The Icecream Truck is somewhere. I remember seeing most of it with the stickers applied. I think I have the minifigures. This was from the very 1st bulk lot I got on EBay and last big one. I had no idea the value of 7888 at the time. I probably paid too much, $500 shipped for 73lbs with lots of minifigures (over 100) and about 10lbs of instructions. It was a mom who was unloading her sons Lego. Definitely wasn't picked through. Lots of Technic, SW, Agents, City and Indiana Jones. She even sent me free another 8lbs in a box months later which has mostly pieces from 7682 Shanghai Chase and 7628 Peril in Peru.

 

Anyways, I'd like to hear what LEGO you all are piecing together from your bulk..

I'm trying to finish buying all the pieces for two train sets that I have put off for a long time.

Now that I know how to use BL most efficiently, I can purchase all the bulk parts!

Sets 4558 and 4561. I have the boxes for both sets and only the manual for 4561... So much to do, so little time!

Built two of these today and 2 1/2 of the cars that go with it. Cool and quick sets.

I am nearly 25% through gathering 10179. I had a boat load of brick in the bins and so far I have spent $20 and I have 1300 or so bricks. Not bad. I am not buying the 2 expensive pieces since I am building it for my boys. I have 2 black boat masts and I don't mind them black.

Almost done with a 7676. This was actually the first set I started from my first bulk buy way back. I've moved since then. I put it off to do other smaller lots over the years. I've decided to finish it so I can sell it off. I have to get to the ISD's I've left hanging next. Purge.. Purge... I say. Too much to buy and hold.

The bulk thing is fun to a point until it takes up a room with no end in sight...ever. No end as this is just some I have organized to deal with and plenty unsorted needing to be cleaned which have non lego bricks, crap, stale crackers, batteries, jewelry, money, rocks and more crap, ect.... You know what I mean.

Some minifigures are missing. So do i just sell the built sets with no figures?

 

Also I think the lot has a rare smooth haired leia, is this posisble from the set number above. She doesnt have the same outfit as the ones on ebay.

The sets will sell for less without the mini figures. You need to consider is it worth sourcing the figures separately to complete the sets.

This is a pretty motivating thread, first time I've come across it. Is there a preference where you guys get your bulk lots from, ebay, Craigslist etc.?

someone told me a while ago that the Cafe Corner costs 862$ and change to put together from bricklink.  probably more now since certain parts fetch a high price.  does anyone know if thats true or accurate?

You should show a pic of what it looks like before you start on it. I would but, my untouched lots are all packed up right now.

I actually tried buying my first bulk lot off of craigslist this morning. $100 for half a Rubbermaid tub of mainly Star Wars sets. They never replied and the listing was taken down a few hours later. :(

Just be careful. I've got over 120 lbs of bulk sitting in my garage. I got caught up in it. It's fun, but time consuming.

Mmm I think I'll just sell them without figures as the postage adds up when buying figures

This is one of my favorite threads, thought I'd share a bit. I recently completed building a series of Star Wars sets I pieced back together from a collection I purchased last year (as others have said, bulk is rather time consuming!). Here's the "hero shot" of each of the sets, I haven't had a change to assemble the 6211 ISD missing from the sequence quite yet....

Like many others here, I also have a 'backlog' of bulk lots to get to. In the beginning, I would complete each and every set I could identify, regardless of size or value. Now I am definitely more selective because of time constraints. I have a feeling I'll eventually be selling of much of the excess I've accumulated. I'm looking forward to it, since it is essentially the spoils of this end of the Lego hustle and it will be a nice little 'bonus' to reinvest at that time.

Finished getting most of the pieces together for the 7723 Police Pontoon Plane. Only missing a few pieces. Will be building it within the next week or so.
